    evolution

I hope Im not getting this confused with evolution trading in N.Y(have offices in N.J also, not sure where else.) I was there for a about a year because a friend and former market Maker told me to come over, it was sure to be profitable. The firm has some professionals in the N.Y office, but the...

How many of us ET traders are up or down this year?

I am down this year for the first time in my life. (trading equities over 11 years). I found this year to be the most difficult to trade since the starting gates in January. Cant seem to keep profits, make money one week loose it over the next using the same principals I use to make it.

Who here trades "retail" full time

Quote from StLouisTrader:[/i] JZ- I don't know about you, but fear seems to be a pretty powerful motivator for me. No wife or kids here, but will have a mortgage soon. Bills aside, I think it would equal ultimate pain in my life to ever have a boss again and lose the freedoms I enjoy now...

Who here trades "retail" full time

Wow, I guess Im not the only one who depends solely on trading to live. I asked that question because I havn't met many people who have the balls to do it, its kinda refreshing to know Im not alone. Also I wonder if that extra pressure of being the sole provider for my family(and the risky way...

    Creating the Emotional Filter

First, great post. Second, I have most of those traits of behavior(should I pack it in LOL). I have been trading for about 18 years, most of them as market maker. I,ve been day/swing trading for about 2 and let me tell you its a whole different game(emotionally). As MM I had the firm give me...

    Market Maker Tricks

I have nothing to hide or deny. I just explained to you a form of market manipulation that some MM,s used in the 90,s.These are not tricks, it doesnt take a sharp person(or trickster) to do those things described and if you did,nt trade the opening this would'nt affect you. Also if you follow...

    Market Maker Tricks

To STOCK777: What you described is not a MM trick, its manipulation. MM,s used to have big buy order pre-open, push the stock up, then sell their order only to bring the stock(they r short) back down. Those days are gone and since order display and manning its difficult for MM,s to (hide)...

    Market Maker Tricks

I was a market maker for 8 years with the second biggest MM on the street. I can assure you there are no tricks that would affect a day/ trend/ scalp trader. Also no MM can see your account, that would be a conflict and unethical.I have been day/trend trading for the last two years and although...

Where do you live? Will you trade remote or in an office. What do you want to trade, equities futures etc. There are many good prop firms in tri-state area, just depends on what you are looking for. I assume your not registered (series 7, 55 etc) That might be a goal for you if you want to make...

What do prop shops offices look like?

Newguy, Echo N.Y office has the whole floor devoted to trading. There are private rooms for group traders(like most firms). All of the equipment looks brand new(desks, flat screen monitors etc). Many TV,s overhead, and they give each trader lots of room, desks not crammed like most trading rooms...
