Also, make sure that your antivirus program is not doing anything in the background. Check the task manager to see which programs are utilizing the CPU. In my case, I noticed that Norton Antivirus creeps on me; I ended up suppressing 'background' tasks while TS was running...

Best market to buy and sell at the same price (to churn commissions)

Thanks! It looks like liquidity is pretty low in the front month. I have to take a look at it during regular hours. I think I am back to $12.5 per tick.

If I am not mistaken, CME offers the historical data for the actual exchange traded spreads. I am not sure that how much it costs.

    Prop Trading Taxation

Thanks! I thought about this little bit more. Let's say for $100 total trading profits, they would show $50 expense which would be sent to me. They would pay capital taxes for $50 gain and I would pay income tax for my general income of $50.

    Prop Trading Taxation

    Tradestation CME data Problems 6/24/2010

Has anyone had the CME data problems yesterday with Tradestation? The data coming in was very 'jittery' for almost couple of hours. I wonder what happened. I haven't heard back about an 'official' explanation yet.

    US citizens trading European/Asian stocks

Does anyone know if there are SEC etc... restrictions for US citizens directly trading foreign stocks in foreign stock exchanges? For instance, Interactive Brokers has a big list of available foreign stock exchanges in their web site. Can US citizens trade stocks directly in any of them?

How to split partnership for a CTA firm

I agree that it's definitely not easy going from 0 to $40,000,000 in a few years. However, I've seen it done --- the fund I worked at did those exact numbers in 1.5 years.

How to split partnership for a CTA firm

We don't need a huge amount to start with. $500k-1M would be a good start.

How to split partnership for a CTA firm

Well at least, potential partner found the 'money' to start trading to build a track record. And he has the connections so I think he'll be able to get some more without major difficulty.
