    $100 million possible?

Didn't someone just made $300M from a $20 lot ticket? Everything is possible. But to stick to trading, it really depends on how much you start with. If you already has $100M, you only need double. If $10000, that's a long way to go!

    zero sum game?????????????

Can't believe this is still dragging on. The stock market is a zero sum game just like any pyramid game is. If you made money on Google stock, it’s not because Google put some of it’s profits into your bank account. Rather, it’s some new buyers transferred some of their bank account to yours!

    Going Live

Since you trade about 20 times a day and said your back test gave you 100% a year, your average gain per trade is about 0.02%, which is dangerously close to the slipage and other losses due to execution. However, without going live you'll never know. From my own experience execution problems...

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

If I have to trade, I'd short the bid simply because I can get a better fill. Price movement is equal on either side with the given info. 56K bid could change to 100 in a second.

    IRA Account

mrvizion, Thanks for the info. I've heard a recommendation for millenium trust from another source so I trust what you said. My main concerns are leverage and settlement time. 1. Are you able to get the same leverage as a regular account, such as 20:1 or 50:1? 2. Is the buying/trading...

    IRA Account

I'm thinking about rollover my IRA account to a FOREX brokerage. Are there any restrictions on trading an IRA account compared to taxed accounts? (e.g. marging, settlement, etc.). Can you day trade an IRA account?

    Newbie Questions

I have traded equities for a while but am totally new to forex trading. Two questions first: 1. Is there a liquidity/slipage issue with forex trading? If yes, at what order sizes does it become an issue? lets only talk about major currencies. 2. What's the typical execution time? Any...

    What do you call yourself?

Is there an official (hopefully respectable) name for fulltime retail traders? When people ask what you do for a living, what do you say?

    Doubledown on overlapping strategies?

Best way to know the answer is to back test your systems and see if the performance (reward/risk measures, etc.) improves doing one way or another.

Switching from "House money" to my own money

Let me put it this way, trading on 20:1 margin is like flying a Boeing 747 at 10 feet above ground...it's doable but how long can you keep flying that low?

Trader portfolio returns vs. Hedge fund portfolio returns

Trading a $300K and a $300M account are completely different stories. You can make $150K a year scalping on a $300K capital. But making $150M on $300M is very unlikely by the same strategy. Market inefficiencies are more frequent in short time frames and illiquid markets, but have very...
