Waking up now to see my stop was missed by 2 ticks and price is back at the point I entered. I feel the same way about this trade (maybe even a little better since they already cleared the stops just under the swing low)... holding, same stop and target.

Bullish divergence on several timeframes on NQ (both RTH and 24hr). ES also, but NQ is giving a better discount compared to the LOD and close letting my stop be cheaper... I'm going for it. Long NQ at 1908.25, stop at 1900.25, target 1947.50

Nice IHS... like I posted last night, good chance we keep going up (1300 minimum, target of 1320-1330). Here are some potential short-term resistance zones to use for scaling out or whatever though... I'm going to take a stab and say we'll get a small bounce of at least 4 points off 2 out of...

I'm liking your trade very much here B1S2, nice entry... good R/R :) I strongly believe this thing makes another drive up... its just not ready to roll over yet. I see that DJIA and SPX daily charts are turning bearish, but theres still time for the divergence to fill out. ES is sitting at...

Alright, we have liftoff... feeling safe to move stop here up to a little above 7 bucks. The "trade" target is at $10.15, holding the "investment" part of it indefinitely. I'm starting to get bearish on the overall indices again though. I know better than to be too early to sell a...

I'm strongly considering placing a "set-it-and-forget-it" day trade tomorrow to get long ES. Lots of support confluence at 1281-1284. Potential order (will evaluate in the morning and post if I place it) : Long 1283.00 Stop 1280.00 Target 1298.00

ES approaching significant resistance at 1322-1327 and up to 1335 with bearish histo divergence... 50% retrace, a major wave projection, a couple external retraces, a gapfill, and a DPTL. At some point there WILL be another trip down to test the low 1200's... whether we break them or not, I...

Not an index future, not a daytrade, and technicals represent only about 50% of the trades reasoning. That said, I consider you guys a little sub-board of ET that I'm much more familiar with and I was wondering if anyone had any input. The stock is American Apparel - APP. From a fundamental...

10 Ways Wall Street Brainwashes You

I know this is something I personally have to continuously "check" myself on. Its too easy spot a potential setup you hope to see fill out then get lazy and partially shut your brain down to observing new patterns. You end up missing other setups occurring while hoping the initial pattern will...

    $5k e-mini journal

Any reason for this? I guess it seems "glamorous" to be able to trade without a chart but I'm not a fan. If you find your DOM and tape reading skills are good and charts are throwing you off, then go for it... otherwise, try messing with different types of charts (tick, constant volume, etc)...

While I like the Nas and Dow more here to play the upside, S&P isn't bad either. Heres some decent support to look for a long to hold a little while... 1235 - 1240 FWIW I'm long via stocks since Thursday open.

Interesting IHS setup on NQ Support from 1800-1820... should be good for 1880 and eventually 1915. I'd jump on any weakness tomorrow to get long if you've got the balls to hold for these targets. Nice R/R setups with good probability IMO.

Trading Daily & 4 Hour Charts Using Extremely Simplified Money Management Technique

Way to go JSS, fantastic entry! I'm glad to see you've kept this journal up to date. I've got a couple of long stock swing trades lined up for tomorrow morning, so hopefully this upwards move will last for another week or two. All sorts of different indicators and stat-arb sorts of studies...

Painless way to reduce gasoline consumption.

I just had a visual of when a power grid gets knocked out in Boston and all the lights turn in to flashing yellows or reds.... what a shitshow! :p Anyway, I like the idea in more suburban areas for sure!

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

If you're trading your setup (which you said has a positive expectancy) and you lost money today, then no biggie... move on and go at it again tomorrow. As long as the setup is good things should work themselves out. However, my concern is that your setup is flawed on a scalping timeframe...

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Not everyone will have the same experience you might have had :) No need to discourage him... I've been trading with similar capital and have far from blown-out. FWIW, spend time at this site only to identify the few and far between successful traders that drop crumbs of advice. Search for...
