    Futures market opening bracket trades

Today the ES was done about 09:51 est for 1.2% in the short account. The EC first filled some positions in the long account, and then after a period of chop gave me a good 1.5% hit in the short account to finish the opening trades.

    Futures market opening bracket trades

The general concept of the ZB system (at $31.25 per tick) is a very simple and completely mechanical system that will be automated - It enters the market at any time (at the open for me) and makes numerous small incremental profits through entry/exit mechanics that are fairly simple in nature...

Also - I need to check into how a person trades, if possible at this time, the Hang Seng index at the open. :)

    Futures market opening bracket trades

I have never traded the YM before, but I am finding through backtesting that it has a different behavior from other products I have traded. I will need to spend additional time to make sure I have solid out of the open "spacing" and proper "stack" quantities to get the most out of the least...

    Futures market opening bracket trades

There was a little bit more idea sharing from this thread - http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70760&perpage=6&pagenumber=4 I would like to see if anyone else is doing something similar to this at market opens - I can't be the only one who has found these times...

The EC is the CME Eurodollar futures contract - http://www.cme.com/trading/prd/contract_spec_EC2465.html I started this thread to see if anyone else was doing something similar and share ideas on the concept. I have spent a lot of time developing this trade set-up for myself and I will...

SM37 - I will be doing some backtesting of my opening market bracket trades for the YM this weekend. I have never traded the YM but if I find anything interesting I will try and give you some hints. :)

    support/resistance in YM

I have a mechanical way to handle any chop moves within my brackets prior to a breakout of price - but this took three months to crack. It can be done - but the key for simplicity in trades is to have what I call price "reaction" areas. Lamont is right that you need to have good s/r levels...

    support/resistance in YM

Yes ok I understand what you are saying now - sorry about my confusion. This is the part of the "bracket" mechanics that I was able to crack for market opening trades. For a s/r level trade, you would have to spend some time to determine the spacing of the long and short entries (from the...

    support/resistance in YM

SM37 This is the statement I want to understand your meaning - "I guess the one catch with a system like this is that your profit must be enought to offset the opposite trade" Also, imo there is no definitive way to determine if a support or resistance level will hold unless you are...

    support/resistance in YM

SM37 - I have a fix/concept for you that you can use to develop a trading method for the s/r levels you are trading. When price gets to your s/r level that you have determined then place a bracket trade "around" the level. Have a set of entry orders above the s/r level for long entries...
