The markets are in a panic mode. 30 yr bond is up 3 points. This is way over done.

This is hard to watch. I wished i had used a tight stop as planned when I entered the trade. Now I am looking at $1000 loss. I just need a bounce so i can dump this

Yeah I know its weak, ES is dropping badly as well. :( I am going to hold a little longer. I hate to jump out of this trade and see it go in my direction. We are at jan low support line and at the bottom of current down channel for this contract. Lets see if it holds

InvestVision, I've been learning about spreads but I haven't yet trade it. Though I think its a bit late for me to get in the MAR/APR spread. The APR/MAY spread is around 2.55. So do you think that will rise to 6-8 range by expiration date next month? Also, do you know where I can get...

Sup spanish. Could you post a chart please mate? Also, does anyone remember how oil behaved during the previous two expirations?

damn Oil looks weak this morning. The up swings are half the size of the down swings and the down swings are setting daily lows. But I don't mind going long with a tight stop around 39.90 - 40.10 which is the Jan low for APR contract. I am keeping close eye on ES to see of it stabilizes.

Yeah I think you guys right about moving over to April contract. I am updating all my charts on IB right now and its pain in the ass. Its too bad the NYMEX is closed tomorrow, because I am still sick with the flu and wont be going to work tomorrow and this would have been a good day for me to...

I am not really forecasting another big spike on Tuesday, but saying it would be nice to get one. :D The thing is, long-term players and hedge funds tend to look at the daily and weekly charts, and even though we were up 11% today, doesn't look like a lot on the daily charts. This chart...

Its good to see oil close near the high of the day. This will look good on the daily charts, and will hopefully bring out buyers on Tuesday :)

My capital is around 50K, but I only use around 10K of it for day trading.

Its the other way around. Spread are much simpler and safer than taking a position outright. Actually, spreads require the least amount of work and analysis, because you are simply betting on the correlation of the two commodities instead of forecasting the direction. And correlations tend to...

Nice! Do you trade spreads a lot? I've been wanting to trade spreads for a long time. As matter fact, I was looking into trading the crack spread, but my broker (IB) doesn't support inner-market spreads. :( But they do support same market calendar spreads, which I might start doing :) I...

yeah I bought 1300 USO @ 28.06 in my long-term account. I am down $3300 so far though, but still holding. Yep, USO is ETF for CL, but its a little more complicated than a straight CL long, because 1) the ETF manager will be rolling over contracts at near expiration and 2) ETF mgmt fees eats...

Why would 38.25 be the max for the march contract? On another note, I really wished crude had a quarterly calendar like ES. These monthly roll overs are pain the ass and completely pointless.

yeah man, this whole year has been bad. Its like this: I would enter a trade with a big $1 stop and the market would turn against me and hit my stop. Then I would enter another trade and see it turn against me, so I would quickly jump out only to see it crash in my direction a few min later...
