"Please don't get into politic disputes in this post"
ha.
I don't remember hearing Obama say he would raise taxes to incredible levels.
I don't agree with him on the capital gains hike but that isn't something that would go down easily anyway.
I'm looking for the smartest candidate...
I've experimented with a few but always have ended back with briefing. Other services give me 'too many' items - they need to be culled out by a human - haven't looked at flyonthewall in a few years though.
The other thing I use is (blech, gag, grazorf, ewwww) CNBC - they do break significant...
I trade the NQ but with a decent report from CSCO and an intermediate uptrend (though apparently 'overbought'), I'd be more inclined to just stand aside (not short) if I was going to 100% cash here. Then again, I don't short but just go to mostly cash if I'm concerned about a pullback.
That...
Earnings and guidance haven't been that bad and the credit system 'seems' to have not collapsed (though it sure is tight).
Combine those with the myriad other supply/demand variables, fear and greed, and you have your answer.
Traders will be fine as long as we have volatility and are...
"A new Goldman Sachs prediction that oil prices could rise to $150 to $200 within two years seemed to motivate much of Tuesday's buying, although a falling dollar and increasing concerns about declining crude production in Mexico and Russia contributed, analysts say.

Back around 1990, when I had some debt I wanted to pay off as quickly as possible, I sold almost my entire CD collection (400 or so) via a usenet news group, collecting nothing but checks from scores of people - nothing ever bounced and people sent me checks before receiving the CD's.
I think...
Good point - my naivete (I"m only 55 :) probably didn't have me considering that - I don't really know how much of a problem buyers may have become but my guess is not enough to warrant the mindset that sellers developed to not give a rating until the buyer did - that really prevented some...
I'm with you on the leaving of feedback as a buyer; I don't do it anymore unless the seller gives me immediate feedback; after all, I've done all I could as a buyer, which is to pay you immediately.
It didn't used to be that way on ebay years ago; sellers gave a buyer feedback right away...
Seek randomness in the season of high trees and wither stoically in portended repose.
In this answer you shall seek the high fruit and virgin dungeon of past experiences, preambled via another march past the shadows of disengagement.
MSFT (should be ?) and GOOG (should be up) are more heavily weighted than YHOO (should be way down) in the NQ. Then, try and factor in a possible overbought condition in the NQ, the dollar, oil, ags, and you end up with ??
I don't know either.
I'm new here but it looks like little Johnny the Troll got into dad's elitetrader account.
As far as recession/depression and predicting it, I have no idea but think that if we do have a big bad economic slowdown, it will take more time than 6 months to be 'written on the wall'.
I'm late to the discussion ... I saw you mention that you use 1 point stops - for me, that would spell death by a thousand cuts.
I would get some steady income coming in from another source and work on longer time frames and a much higher level of selectivity in your trade selections.
What...
It's typically about 4.80 round turn at the best rates but then again, I'm not a big scalper so it doesn't bother me - the other advantages have me using the ES though I do sometimes use the SPY to scale in more slowly/conservatively in the IRA's.
Rick is about my fave on there also - he's knowledgeable and I like his old-school Chicago style; I'm 55 and have seen that show evolve - from the 80's - (along with lots of other TV) to the cackling crap that it now is. The only reason I have it back on is that thinkorswim (my new secondary...
Don't have an overly large position in any one stock and then - assuming this is going against you - try and gauge how bad the news really is before you sell when it reopens; lots of times, there will be an overreaction.
