    An All-new eSignal Launches...

Sans doute. "We told the investors we'd introduce it the first of the year, it's version 11, and it's 2011, get it? and so we shall!" The fact is that it is a disaster that no amount of fixing can fix. It needs to be shitcanned and repaced with a version 12 based on 10. You know what my REAL...

    An All-new eSignal Launches...

Well, curse me for a fool! I decided to be generous and check out the functionality of 11's backtesting, because it says here http://www.esignal.com/esignal/eSignalfeatures_11vs10_6matrix.aspx that it is implemented. So I took out the offending playsound statements from a working strategy...

An excellent assessment. But clearly the developers do not trade, and therefore have no notion of how we make 10 jump through its own asshole to make it do what we want it to. Case in point. Sometimes I want to drag a window partway off the screen because I don't want to see the price scale. Try...

    An All-new eSignal Launches...

The time scale on a one-second chart doesn't show time in seconds, only minutes. How many years did it get 10 to be as good as it is? I'll be dead before 11 is as good. Or using other software that's mature now.

I wasn't done. The debugprintln statement doesn't work correctly.

I am going to say one more thing and then I am done. The new format is wasteful of screen space. I cram a lot of shit onto version 10, and I am guessing I have lost at least 5% of usable screen area in 11.

Remember if you set compute on close that the global values will set on close and be retrieved on the open of the new bar, which may be a problem. When I use them I make compute on close false. BTW. don't waste your time fucking with version 11. It is sooooo not ready for prime time.

    An All-new eSignal Launches...

Well, I just wasted two hours of my waning life (I am a dying old man) downloading and fucking with 11. There is a shitpot more functionality missing than your list admits. So much that I cannot even tell if my old scripts work correctly: hiding titles in the cursor window, efs finding...

It's more like my relationship with my ex: love/hate. Hang around a woman (or a software) long enough, and even her most minor idiosyncracies drive you nuts.

May be making a bigger than usual ass of myself, but I thought the symbol limit was in a single efs script. If so, one way around it is to have as many studies like this as you want, each with seven calls: var eurothedollar;//etc function preMain() {setComputeOnClose(true);} function main()...

Thanks. Good to know. But I may let you shake it down a bit first.

Thanks. That should give the oscillator crowd some encouragement. All my trade stuff is purely statistically-based, but like you, I cannot resist cluttering up my screen with studies that tempt me to outsmart my own systems. I just love all kinds of market internals and support and resistance...

I look forward to reading of your madventures. Please leave a breadcrumb trail. P.S.: 600 lines? That's heavy. My largest is only 300, and I thought it was complexicated. Can you say roughly what that's doing for you, if it's not properiotary?

Thanks for that comparison list. Very informative. I, and I am sure others here, use the broker interface to make one trade a month to take advantage of the exchange fee waiver. Will that work on the initial issue of 11 through the order ticket?

Agreed. I can't remember when the last time was. IB, on the other hand...not enough fingers and toes. Have add my nose and my dick. Strangely, it never goes down when I'm not in a trade.

Thanks. I, and I am sure others here, would also be interested to see how well any transition works with respect to execution speed. I run 33 scripts, eight of them on a one-second chart, with many hundreds of lines of code, so I know whereof ye spake about high volume slowdowns. The flash crash...

Please keep us apprised of your effort to migrate. I have been with EasySignal for over ten years and I, too, have a huge disvestment in EFS scripts which I am reluctant to tackle converting. Apart from that, I would gladly move to a platform that offered autotrading through IB.

    Completely New eSignal

Interesting, but I didn't find that to be the case the last time I bothered to check it. I do observe that IB's clock is sometimes off relative to EasySignal's, like this AM IB was slow by a second.
