Forming Out of State LLC

I filed my first LLC in Delaware and regretted it. It's generally not worth the trouble unless you intend on going public or you expect to be sued. Google the advantages and disadvantages of filing in another state and I think, based on your type of business, you'll decide it's best to file in...

BitCoin - Intellectual Fraud or a Stunning Idea??

Didn't the stock exchanges operate on a chalk board at one time? Why is it so surprising such a new, novel idea would run on a sub-par exchange? If Bitcoin is to survive, it will be on its own merits not an exchanges.

The Jack Hershey Public Record Thread

Ain't that the truth. Talk about an addictive, compulsive personality. What a load of completely useless jibberish?

    Back after several years...

I trade futures exclusively so I don't feel the effect from HFT in the equity markets even though I'm active in those markets but only as an investor. Scalping the futures markets is still a viable strategy.

    Back after several years...

Not necessarily true. 2005 and 2006 was somewhat similar to today. 2007 to 2008 was insane and then 2009 began to revert back to what 2005 and 2006 were like but with much more volatility that eventually subsided. If I were to look for an element in a trader that would lead me to believe he...

    Back after several years...

I know many guys pulling in at least 7 figures in this market. Every market offers opportunity but obviously what worked in 2007-2009 probably doesn't work today -- I know what I was doing back then would blow me up today. The key is to be able to identify opportunity and adapt to it...

Precisely my first impression! Just my quick 2c....OP is well educated (though not Ivy -- I ain't either), well versed, and experienced. I highly doubt you will have much trouble getting a job in this market or any other. Simply forward your resume with a cover letter as close to identical to...

    AAPL -what a shame

CSCO, INTC, QCOM....the list goes on. If you make technology widgets it's just a matter of time before someone takes a piece of your pie.

Why is a Declining US birthrate bad? seems to make sense to me.

The culprit for all of this is student loan debt. People are putting off marriage, having less children and putting off buying a house because they can't affort these and pay their student loans at the same time.

Are Stops really the traders best friend

Exactly! If your stops are getting hit you don't know how to trade. You should be taking yourself out of a trade manually but that requires a lot of discipline. There are also other ways of managing risk. Study the relationship between two instruments such as the 10 year and 30 year. You...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

If I have a strong conviction on the trade and I believe my timing is just off I increase size regularly. If I have to second guess myself then no. Sizing up is a necessary tool but you to know when to use it and when not to use it.

My over 6-year trading experience in a nutshell

Your post is well taken and largely accurate but there are some people who trade successfully for many years. If you try to go it alone you'll most likely fail. Prop trading experience in a very valuable way to break into the business if you can land a job. You either need to know someone or...

I'm new and I want to trade for a living.

Let's see....the OP just registered to post how badly he wants to trade on the weekends and you just registered to tell him what a great idea it is and how easy it will be with a CTA. In the off chance the OP is serious generating profits in the commodities market requires an advanced...

    Triple Dip Recession or Depression?

Yes. Look no further than the middle east.

    Back after several years...

Completely agree. An MBA is a fluff degree as far as trading is concerned. I would recommend the OP take some classes in Quantitative Finance if the school offers it. Many schools offer Certificates in Quant Fin. Northwestern and Stanford offer an online Cert...

Velocy Futures would only wire out funds - no more checks

Been trading w/Global Futures for many years. They will negotiation on commish based on volume and their customer service is 2nd to none. They also cut checks but I frequently wire funds out for large dollar amounts. The 30 bucks is worth it for insurance.

Trillion dollars in student loan debt. Young people can't afford a house, family.

Precisely. I'm baffled why students insist on going to St. ABC Private University and pay 60k per year when they could go to XYZ State and get the exact same education. Naturally, if the private school were Ivy League then that's a different story. Some schools are obviously better...

Tell me a first world country that is not socialist

The societal make-up in the US is a blend of Capitalism, Socialism, and Corporatism. If you research the definition of all three you can put the US into all of the categories, but not as a pure society. Opportunity is still available to all who want to explore it as long as you’re...
