    Figuring out e-minis

I agree, which is one of the reasons I don't trade indexes. With the indexes i just don't think there is a clear trade setup everyday. However, somewhere in the entire stock market there IS a clear trade setup every day.

    The repurcussions of nuking France

I wonder, what would happen if we nuked france ? Would the price of cheese go up ? of course i'm joking, but i'm sure a lot of americans are wondering why the france are so stupid while they sit around saying how stupid americans are. Certainly there is no reason to defend france and germany...

    Daytrading drawbacks

All you prop traders out there "doing size", how much would you have made with the same buying power by just buying a basket of gold stocks and going to play golf for 6 months ? Don't think about it too long it will make you vomit. Better to just jump on the next upswing and look to the future.

    Economy, the Fed, Gold Rush..

don't forget the plain old technicals. Look at the charts of XAU, HUI, and just about any gold stock with any substance. Bull Market, Bull Market, Bull Market. That's what really matters. Anybody fondly remember how easy it was to make money in 1999 ? Yes, in fact it was easier, don't...

    Trading equities vs. ES/NQ'S

I've done well with stocks, less well with options, and futures are very enticing but e-mini's scare me because i'm usually better with individual stocks than with the indexes. I am getting interested in SSF's but the liquidity isn't good enough yet IMHO.

Gold bottom in the next week

i think there is a good chance the XAU and many of the stocks that haven't already gone to the moon are headed for their 1996 levels. That would put XAU around 140. Some of the smaller unhedged companies still have tremendous percentage gain potential. BGO is 1.17 but its 1996 high is around $7...

Worldco Do I really have to put up money?

am i correct in my interpretation that you have been trading 15k shares a day, are profitable overall, and have yet to receive any income after 4 months ? Did you have to put up any capital ?

Gold bottom in the next week

gold and gold miners are retracing recent gains on light volume and I believe there is a bull market in gold that will last for the rest of the year at a minimum. I am looking for the XAU to get down to around 65 on this downswing and then bounce hard. Anybody agree? Disagree ?

Worldco Do I really have to put up money?

the problem with worldco is the same as the problem with prop trading in general, which is simply the low success rate. People have unrealistic expectations going in. Most newbies will quit or get "fired" ( not really fired because your not an employee ) within 6 months.

    Anyone daytrading Gold Stocks ?

check out BGO as a low priced volatile stock with plenty of liquidity.

Can you take a long term pos. in minis?

it sounds like this guy doesn't want to check his positions every day, so futures are probably not the way to go, better off with unleveraged positions in something like QQQ or SPY.

    Anyone daytrading Gold Stocks ?

I don't think its absolutely necessary to follow spot gold if you only play the stocks, XAU and HUI are good enough.

Worldco Do I really have to put up money?

I never went there but I almost did when i was interested in daytrading. (I decided to stay retail as a swing trader and continue working for a living ) Basically everything is negotiable, so don't just settle on them. Most likely you will lose any money you put up, going to a place like worldco...

    Al-Queda and Iraq Link

I think what's in it for Sadam is just plain revenge, along with the possibility that we wouldn't attack him for fear of terrorism in the future.

    Al-Queda and Iraq Link

The problem with the left in the U.S. is that they are very uncomfortable with patriotism ever since Vietnam war. They need to get over it and realize that if the U.S. doesn't kick ass, SOMEBODY ELSE WILL. It is better to have a series of small wars or "peace keeping missions" than to allow...

    Al-Queda and Iraq Link

I think there are radical people in every country in the middle east that are cheering for Al Qaida regardless of what their official position is. Look at Saudi arabia, most of the hijackers were from there, Bin Laden is a member of the royal family, and yet officially they are our friends and...
