As a diehard technician I can't comment on the fundamentals, but what I can say is the chart doesn't look too healthy. I wouldn't go long unless they get over 9.00. JMHO.

Changed my SHLD order before I left for work. Set it up in 2 parts, the 1st trade triggering the 2nd: 1) buy back the 160 calls if we breached 163 2) 0.20 trailstop on the 165's. Got home to find I'd been stopped out, final position 0.05 short of break-even. No complaints there...

I'd sleep a lot better if I knew there were a safety net, so set up the following conditional order: BTC @ market if SHLD quotes above 163 or below 152. Unless there's a gap up, I can't lose more than 1-1.5%. If this spread expires worthless, I'll be up 5%.

STO ATI Jul 70/75 bear call spread @ 1.65 Expect a pullback, but probably not holding until expiration. Small size as I'm anticipating a move that hasn't happened yet.

    Brave New World

I was looking for a swift move that didn't happen. Decided to remove my exposure, take the small loss and look for a higher probability play. I'm a little hesitant to comment or commit to anything at the moment, this market's bamboozling me. However, if MRVL closes around the current...

    Brave New World

I beg to differ. Take a moment to consider the movie industry. Onerous, cut-throat and fiercely competitive. Many directors would agree with that definition. Not Steven Spielberg. For him, movie-making is the expression of a far loftier ideal. Enriching lives with a sprinkle of...

Back from the dead... Quick update. After three months of diagonal calendar spreads I'm squarely at break-even. Despite a few setbacks, was doing reasonably well, up 15%, with the bulk of my account sequestered in long positions in AAPL, MRVL, OIH, JOYG. Then came the market...

    Medicine or Wall Street?

As a practicing physician, I can confidently say that if you pursue medicine purely from a pecuniary point of view, you won't get very far. Most people don't realise what they really want out of life until their brightest opportunities have passed them by. Don't let that happen to you...
