I've used PCQ 6 for several years and finally dumped it. Their data just became too inaccurate. Example; about ten days or so back the Dow closed down about 41 points. My data feed showed the Dow closing UP over 200 points and had been that way all day. The same thing happend several days...

Just so I understand : is there any conflict between the firewall and data feed?? Is anyone using Preferred's software behind ZA ? thanks

Personally, if you really believe the stock will appreciate that much, I would try to leg into the spread rather than trying to buy it outright. You may be able to reduce your cost/risk substantially. You also are not at the mercy of the floor trader jerking you around.

had to reinstall the OS and all software. The virus hit my small rural alaska community. Norton users managed to escape but not the McAfee users. I needed Dell tech support to get going again. ISP's servers are still screwed up. Dell said it would have worse had I been running W95/98...

Well my experience was somewhat worse. I had my entire operating system wiped out instantly yesterday morning by Sircam 32. I was running McAfee and updating daily. It failed to catch it. Could it be a McAfee specific problem??

Probably just my suspicious nature but don't forget that when something sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't..........true. I'd be very careful.

Call me suspicious or paranoid but I have subscribed to Barron's for years and have always felt they have an agenda. Alan Abelson is a great writer but I doubt he has ever taken a bullish view on anything. The thing I've always wondered about is whether management or the editorial policy board...

I've used PCQ for about three years. They've gotten better all the time. Outages rare. Tech support about like all the rest I suppose. They always start off by blaming your connection to the net for any problem. But for the price (75$) its adequate for me

Just a suggestion; over time there is an historical ebb in the market at about 10;00ET and again about 14;40ET. Watch it for a couple weeks and you may find better entry points. Of course you still have to be right overall

DEF; I suspect you are righ about the autoex being off. I subsequently made the trade on CBOE bout an hour later and I'm sure it was autoex. Right you are about not protecting the floor trader but that's an ongoing battle.

Zboy is correct. I was looking at the value of the option position at expiration vs. the net loss on the assignment which is what I thought Mr_F was also looking at. I also agree with ZBOY about the entry points which is why I asked the question about actual or arbitrary premiums.

MR_F; Lets assume that XYZ closes at 75. The option position shows a one point gain at expiration. But you are short the 60 calls and are assigned. You exercise your 65 calls and netting that against the one point gain leaves you in the hole by four points not counting transaction costs...

Yes I was talking about the corporate route. Obviously the pupose of the business would be to make a profit and that will certainly satisfy the IRS. If you generated 5K the first year or any year, expenses such as your ISP, data feed, charting software, telephone or satellite or cable costs...
