Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

Ok, thx. Got the In the Zone, although some bottom lines can not be read. Halfway through it, so far a lot of things I had come up to the conclusion myself, let s see if there are any actionnable things in the 2nd part... Anyone has read Van Tharp? especially Peak Performance? It sells at...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

This statement can not be checked scientifically... AT ALL... It is just what YOU believe to be true..... Because you have done some backtesting slash data mining over the past 30 years and you found something that would have worked for that time period... You have absolutely no assurance...

So desu ne ! I agree with Scata... on this one, but not Phoenix who would seem to me more of a pure scalper. Anyway, if anyone is able to retake the original topic of the thread, I would greatly appreciate it !! Wakarimasu ka??!

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

To you too... however I note that "scratching" a trade : - not by intuition - not using a stop is a process rather difficult to imagine... I guess since most traders have some ego it will be difficult to avoid lengthy discussions going everywhere... to prove a point that is not...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

Kudos if you re making money on ID trades selling when the market is "not going your way"... (I would have thought that way you would "scratch" all the freaking time...) Anyway, typical ET thread where it ends up talking about anything but the original post...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I day trade AND scalp.. When you are a superstar in ID trades I guess you can minimize your stop loss at a nice level just by intuition... until then you need to have a stop loss in mind...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

You don t know for sure but you better have a REASONABLE MINIMUM expectancy due to past patterns of where it may take you... Because RISK is the only thing you set up ahead of time............. and is the only thing you control. So if you are systematically risking R to get 0.5R.. you ll go...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

OK.. am not sure what is the trading level of people kindly answering my post here... So I ll try to make it easier : Because R, that was my initial target to sell !!! and a risk/reward is NEEDED before entering ANY trade..... ->>TECHNICAL "Why not just allow price to do what it's going...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

Because there is no reason of getting out too early of a winning position.................... "Cut losses, let profits run", remember??... Don t think I need to explain why... Unless you are scalping for ticks of course (which I sometimes do). But here am talking more of ID trades...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I do have rules of course... and yet when I use those rules I sometimes miss some huge opportunities, that I feel I should not have missed... Or take trades that were not "good" enough/extreme in retrospect (like every trader I guess). Ok, writing down the name of the books, but since people...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

That s exactly what I am talking about.. you buy at support S and try to sell at resistance R (one of many many trade set ups)... Everything goes by the book, you get out around R, and then, suddenly, the market breaks the resistance, and is off way above what you (or most market particpants...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

That is the typical thinking of someone who is starting with trading and still believes such a system exists... - "consistent through a wide variety of market conditions"->> how much "wide"?.. - "back-tested"->> over what time period? - "and forward tested in a live simulator with great...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I MOST definitely don t think so... Psychology is obviously a HUGE part of trading for anyone who has traded before... Discretionary first of course, and even automatic as the one that plugs/unplugs the machine is human...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I can not say, I d rather stay anonymous here on ET ;) Of course I was taking at least 5/10x times leverage, which I handle very well on equity contracts... Also I did not enter from the start with 10x times leverage but as the market was moving with me... Then, I did something stupid with...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I quite don t agree ;), even though that rule is not a bad one in general for TRENDS in any time frame. I don t agree because you may have a target to exit at X, but you are not God, and it may just so happen that X is just on the way to getting to Y which may triple your profit on the...

Best "trading psychology" book you have ever read?

I am looking at reading my first one... I have realized that I still struggle sometimes with "let the profit run" : when it hits a certain € amount I have to take it even though it could become a much bigger winner, and there s no signal to get out, just the "it could go the other way" in...

Gibraltar Seen as Europe-Beater for Finance Professionals

Hi. Interesting. Am actually looking at how to set up a "private fund" in Gibraltar (potentially, ie offshore), does anyone have experience with this? Alternatively, are there trading prop shops in Gibraltar at the moment? I know a star trader started there trading the Bobl etc, currently...
