ok, this is very entertaining...it's good to see other people using real names and stating their case my own personal opinion about pro firms(if anyone cares): I think i would like to continue to trade at home or at least have the option to...having worked at 2 of the biggest brokerage...

janko- I used to do that all the time...now I do it once in a while...I think its about confidence, having the ability to pull the trigger etc...I'm sure Tony has great advice for you...maybe he can share it here because I'm sure it would help many people, including myself. Take it easy.:)...

Might as well throw my 2 cents in... in addition to the books ChrisRT suggested...I really like Pit Bull , by Marty Schwartz... and in addition to neo's plan...I have also found that keeping a detailed trading log helps a ton...write down everything you can about your trading day...most...

How come nobody will address the LLC tax issue? Don and Gene must know...so why don't they answer the post? Do they not want us to know? Lescor, I know you've only been with Echo for a short time, but I assume you'd look into something that could possibly take half your hard earned cash...

PTTrader- Don't be sorry...I also trialed Ken Wolf's room and frankly I thought he was terrible...maybe I'm just making an excuse, but my worst month this year was the month I was in his room. Also he contradicted himself by telling the room and thestreet.com room that he trades, then i watched...

esepich- You need to stop trading. If you really think you were so physically damaged by trading, stop! I'm sure many of us have had the sweaty palm or a bouncing knee during our first few weeks of trading...but if you had to got to the hospital you should really consider another profession...

I think there are some similarities between CERTAIN casino card games and trading. The biggest being the people playing them. Blackjack, you can tilt the odds in your favor. Poker I see even more similarities, and I'm not talking video poker here...I'm talking sitting down at an 8 player...

Z- I sometimes use a trailing stop after my initial target has been met and it seems the market is still strong in my favor The amount I use depends on the stock(volatility, share price, etc.)

Nich- The best place to find the basics for free... www.cboe.com www.cme.com On boths sites you can request info on options and futures...I just got my e-mini package in the mail from cme...great basic stuff for free! :cool:

NVrsettle- If you call Rob at the main office , he'll give you the number for the NY office...it's located downtown Manhattan

gordo- they're good to get a hold of a sector or foreign exposure(many of them are baskets of foreign stocks)...however a majority of them are ver illiquid and don't forget, you can't short in retirement accts, so you'd be limited to longs but if your looking to go long Japan or something...

getting into the software business Robert? How about chart pattern recognition? I know ther are some good scan programs, and even 1 or 2 pattern rec programs...but maybe something that could alert to certain technical patterns intra day.

Yeah tymjr...I never noticed that, but I'll say this...having been in the brokerage business for 5 yrs you're always gonna have some guy who has nothing but negative crap to shoot...and it always turns out that they're the first to fail...so they go to another firm(or change their name) so they...

I'd have to agree with Lescor on this . One difficult thing to do is start everyday fresh and seperate from the last. When I'm hot sometimes I think I can make trades happen, but nobody can do that....you gotta let the trades come to you. Easier said than done. :cool:

I've also become more interested in NYSE stocks partially by being on yahoo w/ P2, lonehand, lescor and about 8 other guys...its good to have those guys around...i probably make the most useless noise, but i have't gotten yelled at yet but seriously, the chat is cool, much better than the hype...

lesco- just to add my exp...I had no business experience at all, had never taken any business or accounting courses in college(although i was a decent student 3.2 gpa)..I studied about 3 hours a night 5 days a week for 3weeks...and scored 84 options and muni bonds probably the more difficult...
