    Raising Capital

WOW - very impressive, :p Now.. that's dedication! ------------------ The papertrading aspect is really BS. It's not until you trade with the big boys, that you will find out: The fills aren't nessarily as perfect as papertrading :( etc... so instead i would strongly recommand opening a...

Best City for a Starting Daytrader....

Trade at home and Definitely Florida as my first pick. Tax purpose a + (although i am from Canada...) We, Canadians, over here bust our ass to make money so that we can enjoy the FL weather, so in a sense, you are saving a tone! :D and yes. I Strongly agree to the "Trade your own...

    How did you all start?

I think ES / NQ trades more by "the books" then stocks. I switched to ES as a testing at first.. but then i noticed ES can be alot more profitable if you are already a discipline daytrader. Some stocks are too thin to trade.. some are too thick for any action, and you are left with only a...

Would working at institutes enforce your discipline?

It would in a sense, because it forces you to trade in a mechanical fashion, but it would also take your own money to really learn how it feels to be playing with fire. ---> you can get burn ..... Is not until then, that you will learn how to treasure your trades.

    How many trades per month?

I do an avg of 24 trades a day, so on a 20 trading month. ---> APPROX. 480? (450 to 500) not more, not less. I am a one stock scalper too when it comes to stock trading. (but i find the ES so much better to trade and scalp lately.)

    Daytrading drawbacks

Where is this thread going?.... Everyone make their money differently. If you are good enough to daytrade and make 20 ticks a day on the ES ---> you WOULD day trade. If you don't have the passion to trade day in day out.. you are more likely to SWING it. That's all. :: what am i am...

Benefits of trading alongside successful traders

I would keep trading with the guys at the firm. Assuming that everything stays the same: Profits, Expenses, etc. Trading on the floor keeps up the discipline, the exchange of ideas, and mostly, it keeps you awake up during the dull days. :p Don't see a reason to leave... do you?

    Best Way to Get Started!

i would strongly suggest you to get a side job, part time night job or something, so that you won't be so stressed out at first about paying your rent, and over-heads. (assuming that you are living on your own) I started when i was 19, and it is still the best thing i have ever got...
