    commission to profit ratio

Thanks for all the response. I am paying 0.75 per contract without ticket charge. What I really want is to evaluate my trading performance.

    commission to profit ratio

Cache, You are right. I pay less than 10% of my commission for most of the time, but sometimes i lose money. It is part of the game to have some losing trades. I also like to take profits when there are better opportunities to use the buying power.

    commission to profit ratio

No. Why do you think its crazy? What is your average commission to profit ratio? I use the following formula to find the ratio: total commission in a year / net profit in the same year.

    commission to profit ratio

I pay a per-contract commission, and so larger position will not change the ratio.

    commission to profit ratio

Anyone likes to give me an idea? I gave up 20% of my gross profit as commission cost on average. Is it too high?

how would a non-profit prop firm llc structure work, could it work?

I looked at it last year and they planned to set up an office in nyc. They are still planning. If they can't set up an office in nyc, they won't be able to have enough interest to set up any office in the states.

    Prop Firms in Hong Kong

If you don't have a US tax id, most US broker-dealers will not take you as a prop trader. You have to go through sub-LLC. BTW, both genesis and hold allow you to trade equities only, not future. HongKong is too expensive to operate a prop trading firm imo. Why don't you check with...

Working for LLC for a K-1, Earned Income? Sub LLC?

You can still deduct some of the expenses such as internet connection, news subscription, and home offices, but not for benefits such as pension plan, medical plan nor tuition etc. If you want a huge deduction, you better check with professional accountants.

    Prop Firms in Hong Kong

You can trade as a remote trader in HK under a prop firm in US, unless you want to trade in a office environment.

Working for LLC for a K-1, Earned Income? Sub LLC?

Your K1 is not earned income, and so no FICA tax. I don't see any benefit of setting a sub-LLC. My understanding is that if you set up a sub-LLC, you will be taxed as a proprietor, and so you have to pay FICA tax. If GreenTax advises otherwise, please let us know.

    Theory v.s. reality: delta ??

You are right. You should use the risk-free interest rate 5.25% for the calculation, and the fair value of Dec 08 Dow future should be 146.68. To be exact, you should use the future risk-free interest rate. Since it is unknown, most traders will use their own prediction of the interest rate...

    Market order for 0x0.05 bid/ask?

I believe TOS offers free commission for closing a position with price <= 0.05. I longed this put for some special reason some time ago. I wanted to sell it one day before expiration when it was almost 100 points away from the spot.

    Market order for 0x0.05 bid/ask?

Mav, I love to sell to close my rut 690 May put option at 0.01. How can I do that? What type of order do I use? Should I use market order? It is better to get 0.01 than nothing.

Pin risk (options) - How do you handle it?

I had the 820 short combo with RUT closed at 819.32 on 4/19. It gapped out around 15 points the next day. The time value of the combo was huge. What is the best way to handle this situation? Today I have rut 820 calendar (short May, long July). What should I do now?

Pin risk (options) - How do you handle it?

If there is a big gap, the writer will still lose money, right? Last month, I shorted both rut 820 put and 820 call. It gapped up around 15 points and i lost money. Why is it the best case for writers?
