    Tracking down SEC actions....

I was thinking more of a special website that tracks the SEC actions on a case by case basis. SEC enquiries are always conducted non publicly, and as such not disclosed by the SEC. Quite often, word of those enquiries leaks out. I was wondering whether there is a site that collects that kind...

    Tracking down SEC actions....

Does anyone know of a website that publishes SEC actions, such as informal request, subpoenas, enforcement actions etc issued by the SEC ? I have found that sometimes a company's SEC filing provides details on these actions, but more often than not, that information is released via newswires...

    REDI+ Servers

I believe choosing manually IP addresses for Redi server is "old fashioned" (for lack of better word). They are running load balancing servers, which should ensure that you always get signed on to the server which currently has least usage. I would switch to a more recent version (10/9/03...

    Trading After A Halt

yes, but the price was $1 lower after 30 minutes. I did trade it as well. The question remains: how do you determine your direction ? Buying goof news and shorting bad news as your only criteria will not lead to long term success. Don't have the answer myself.

    Anyone use Revere Data?

Is this the new company from the guys at sectorbase.com ? I trialed their product a year ago. Lots of cross sctor analytics, but I got lost in the amount of data. Oliver

    Good Data Vendor for Testing?

Apparently this company does have a database including obsolete tickers: http://www.qaisoftware.com/software.html To CharlesXT question: I have heard that CGQ has the best data. I have tested NYSE intraday day from eSignal and quote.com, and have to say that the data quality is not...

Best source for intraday broker up/downgrades

Indeed, I checked for the timing of yesterday PHCC intraday upgrade from Lehman around 14:16pm, and they were quicker than briefing.com or DJ. Why do you say "used to". Have they become less good compared to what they were ?

Best source for intraday broker up/downgrades

Which website/service do you use for intraday broker up/downgrades? I have compared briefing.com to DJ Newswires to FirstCall, and none really is timely. Alway at least 5 to 20minutes too late, as one can see from volume spikes in the chart. Oliver

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

Ok, thanks for the clarification. It seems that eSignals T&S is bugy. That's a new experience. Seems like Bridge is a good feed. Do you have a link at hand for more info ? Upon checking the nysedata.com website, I can confirm that they also list the correct opening price of $61.1 Most other...

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

I have not checked Bridge yet. Could you do me a favour and see what Bridge notes as the opening price for NKE on the 19th of September 2003. They had some kind of pos announcement and the stock was indicated something like 60-63 at the open by the specialist who eventually opened it at 9:48am...

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

Regarding Nyse quotes: yes, the opening print is easy to get. but impossible to backtest since all quote providers also take trading on secondary avenues (such as the ECN or regional exchanges) into account for the historical opening price. If there is a gap, in all likelihood, the first print...

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

Gaps make the backtesting a nightmare because the opening price will be very unstable and execution at the open price is unlikely (slippage!!!) Oliver

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

I'm thinking of following more the "advice" of the smaller, unfamiliar brokers. Indeed, following MLCO, MSCO, GSCO etc is at best a break-even strategy. Unfortunately, fading them doesn't work either. Oliver

    Trading Broker Up/Downgrades

Is anyone trading brokerage houses' up/downgrades ? I have analysed the data over the last 2 years and found some tradeable strategies, but I would like to hear from someone who has done so over the past, about his/her experience. Anyone who's interesed in sharing data, please let me know...

Mining Fund Disclosures for Investment Ideas

not sure myself. but i have seen cramer mentioning the strategy a couple of times, which leads me to believe that some hedgies must be trading such a strategy. the key of course is to know which funds are "super hot" or "super cold" during the time of the in/outflows. OLiver
