Nice:D 10psi will be a breeze for that thing. On a similar note, the T67 was a popular turbo in my world - imo though it was a mismatched comp/turbine, exh. side was too small.

Flywheel horsepower? That's no problem for an EJ20 or EJ25 (JDM or USDM Sti motors) - throw a 20g or GT30 on there and you're golden. Tough, reliable motors. These motors, much like the DSMs of the world, have spawned a huge host of reliable aftermarket 'packages' that can provide for a range...

    Reveiving CMT certification...

To be fair, I wouldn't say worthless - there's value in not only the information but also in its pursuit. It does teach you basic tenants of pricing (I can see the FI portion being useful) and it requires a certain level of self-motivation, which seems useful in trading. That said, I'm not...

Why do people believe day trading will get them rich quick?

I see your point in that often times a market participant can pick up a settlement at a 'discount' while still providing more value than the issuer may be willing to offer the client - however the participant is still taking on model/extension risk, so in my opinion, it's not a true 'edge'. A...

Success in trading stocks a prerequisite for success in trading options?

To raise and allocate capital as well as to transfer risk - often with the intention that markets are fairly priced. I was trying to point out that if options (or any other asset) are fairly priced, that doesn't invalidate the purpose of markets. If anything it might enhance their...

Success in trading stocks a prerequisite for success in trading options?

You could be right in that he lost money at Paloma. The point I wanted to make was that he had made money trading his theories. It's not as if he came up with his views and then tried to apply them to the markets - his views are a direct result of his experience in the markets. That's the...

Success in trading stocks a prerequisite for success in trading options?

Yea, he's made plenty of money, even before his fund - he made a lot of money trading at a variety of banks, notably in '84 and in '87.

Success in trading stocks a prerequisite for success in trading options?

Fair value implies risk neutral pricing (however you want to define that) - you can certainly make the argument that the latest market price is 'fair value', although 100:1 says if a basic BS model values a call at $1 and the offer is $.02 you're buying. -my 2c
