Santelli spoke about gs and c's dissapointing auctions of some securities. I don't know the names of the securities but I think Santelli spoke about it between the 2-3:00 est time slot today. He basically said that their stock charts over the last few days represent the bad auctions they have had.

Orders are transmitted in milliseconds. Sometimes thousands of orders are placed, cancelled, and moved up from one account in very short periods of time. Software will reject orders if there is not enough bp, not some little margin clerk monitoring 500 black boxes.

Go to any prop daytrading floor. You will see all types of traders. There will be a few who make $20,000 plus before lunch. There will be the ones who try to make their $1000-$2000 in a day, and there will be losers, beginners, and crybabys. I have no doubt there are liars on this board but...

These markets are very volatile, but they still are not at the level during the late 90's-2002 time period. Back then there were stocks like sdli,brcm,pmcs that would have 30-70 point range evry day. I also agree with Austinp markets are harder to trade because of the algo bots.

I agree 100%. When do you guys think $50,000 is possible? I havent called the guys at my office but I know considering a couple of them are up over $100,000 this month already that they probably had monster days today. Absolutely doable on a day where the sp futures had a 70 point range.

Funny this thread started. I emailed squawkonthestreet@cnbc.com about Cramer being pathetic for treating Brian Westbury so bad. I shut off the tv in disgust and missed Santelli vs Cramer. I really am starting to despise that little man Cramer and all his lies.

I have had about 5 or 6 $20,000 loser days. I now keep automated liquidation on my daytrading accounts to ($5000). I don't have the up $30,000 days anymore but net net its a plus avoiding the big down days while still being able to have the occasional large winning day.
