Download of free historic price data

I highly doubt this data is available for free anywhere unless there are online forums that I haven't heard about where members trade their own data they've accumulated for free. I've never heard of it supplied online from a website for free, and most especially copyright-free. If you get a...

Fundamental and analyst data via a feed?

Does anyone know if there is a feed, or service provider that provides access to fundamental data, such as balance sheet data, income statement etc, as well as things like analyst estimates? I know some web sites such as Yahoo have it, so I can screenscrape that if I need to, and I'm sure...

    I really need your advice

I'm a programmer with 15+ years experience. I mainly specialize in C/C++, but I know how to program in Java and various other languages. First off, I disagree with syswizard, you can make a very good salary as a programmer. Depending on where you live, and how good you are, you can make a...

    Dark pool trading data

To be honest, I know very little about dark pool. I was wondering how trades were reported, and if they showed up in data feeds, etc. If I do get more info I'll be sure to share, though.

Ooops. PCLN @ 540. I guess you were wrong. Are you actually short this trade, if so, what is your stop loss?

CNBC Guest alleges: NFLX Cooking the Books

LOL You're patting yourself on the back for a post that is 7 months old? With a vague prediction? You were wrong for 80+ points and 7 months. You would have gone broke shorting this from Feb.

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

Like I said, this guy is exactly like one of those fat people that spend $180/week on fitness trainers. They'll say "yeah, I haven't lost weight yet, but my blood pressure is down, and I can really sleep well at night." P.T Barnum had it right, what a sucker.

Are you a profitable trader after subscribing to this room? If yes, for how long now? If no, how long do you think it will take you to get profitable following his methods?

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

How do you know that he made his money back? I know because there are several students who track every single one of his trades. What "ridiculous accusations" have I made?

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

8 figure account? LOL He absolutely did not make it back. I know this because I know a couple of people in his room. In fact, I heard he was up to 100 contracts on the TF and squeezed out a $2000 gain. That's 2 ticks of profit on 100 contracts. For the record, he has changed his style...

Parking capital safely in stock account

Stick it in an online savings account that is FDIC insured. Nothing in the stock market has "very little risk". If you buy an ETF, it takes time for the trade to settle as well as transfer your money (unless you're willing to wire, which costs money), so you definitely won't get the money in...

    Tick Data

TickData is amongst the cheapest I've seen. I got CGQ data a couple of years ago and if I remember correctly the tick data was on the minute!! My memory could be wrong so I would double check.

Optimization of a trading system with avoidance of curve fitting.

The way I test the optimization is by looking at the distribution of returns per trade and the win rate. What I look for is an even distribution of returns whose values don't fluctuate wildly. What I find curve fitting does is it will give you a wide variance between some really huge gains...
