Gold's future over the next 5 years.......

Do you think the central bankers will create more money and credit faster than miners dig ounces of gold? If so, there will be additional pressure on the price to rise.

    gold time to buy

Not quite. It depends who is doing the measuring and what they measure, and what they measure it against. For example, when Argentina collapsed, the official rate of inflation was less than 1/2 of the unofficial rate. In the case of the US, what other currencies will collapse with the...

The Narrowing of the US Tax Base....

WHATEVER IS IS SPENT MUST EVENTUALLY BE TAXED, PLUS *INTEREST* FROM US. These people, both Dems and Repubs must be thinking that THEY wont be the ones paying, I guess, because the debt is literally going to the moon.

The Narrowing of the US Tax Base....

Its called giving up because there is little revenue, no profit, and even less hope. I will probably leave the country in the next few years. There is nothing left here worth staying for, as long as you know they have targets taped to your back like I do. They are borrowing and spending...

The Narrowing of the US Tax Base....

What else would you expect them to do? I shut mine down. I went to the trouble of finding my employees other jobs first, which I didnt have to do, but they were friends, too. The real Problem is that the system is COMPLETELY WRONG AT THE CORE. Whatever you tax is discouraged, and...

How many people here actually make a living?

At least 6 or 7 digits every year for both. Im more of a swing trader or investor than most here, I think. Buy panic, sell glee.

Summers said the rebuilt U.S. economy must be more export-oriented

Ummm, its not that Bush and his cronies did ANYTHING right or good, its just that Obama and HIS cronies are EVEN WORSE

Mark Cuban's insider trading case is dismissed

Its the CEO who disclosed material info to just one shareholder rather than releasing the info publicly, who should be being dragged into court by the SEC. Its the rest of the shareholders who were left in the dark that were wronged.

Gold above 1200$ an ounce in 2009?

I don't think so. Not until those cash for gold places are going out of business because there is nobody left willing to give it away cheap. Did you know that the US exported almost 4 times as much gold last year as we produced? We produced somewhere around 200 tons (32,000 oz/ton), but we...

Summers said the rebuilt U.S. economy must be more export-oriented

Nothing like waiting 40 or 50 years before noticing that you cant borrow and spend your way to prosperity. Its hopelessly too little, and decades too late. The US is a dinosaur, dead but still stumbling along. You would need to devalue the dollar or reduce wages by 90% for American companys...

I don't think anyone expects inflation. A dollar collapse is what's in the pipe.

"White House Foresees 10 Percent Unemployment Before Year End"

Within 2 to 3 months max, I'd expect. There is NOBODY creating any jobs worth having.

Hyperinflation Could Hit US In 5-10 Years: Marc Faber

What we will have is hyper stagflation, IMO. Wages go noplace except those controlled by CPI, and the real cost of living keeps rising. Net effect is a lower standard of living and a debased and devalued dollar, at best.

Krugman Warns Obama that He'll Face 1937 w/out More, Massive Stimulus

I think its pretty obvious at this point that the "stimulus" didn't put any of the unemployed to work, no matter how much money is printed, and all we are doing is burying future generations in massive, no MASSIVE amounts of unpayable debt.

    To believe hyperinflation or not.

The counterfeiters are in Washington DC, guarding the henhouse, if you haven't noticed. 5 to 10 yrs out he will be correct. This year not, but longer term there is no alternative.

Will the collapse of the dollar empty your trading account?

If you looked at it instead as a percentage of the productive portion of GDP, instead of pretending that consumer buying was a positive, you'd find that the US is in much worse condition than it looks when you include consumer spending at 72% of GDP. After all, you can only repay that debt with...

    Nonfarm payroll 345,000 job loss

No, it means the nmbers were a lie. Look for the revision either next month or at the end of the year. That's what they ALWAYS do. Its no better than geting numbers from Bagdad Bob's Propaganda machine, IMO.
