    Ben STEIN for President!

Yes, let the flames begin, but Ben Stein was on Kudlow & Company earlier, and said: "I am absoultely scared to death of Obama as a possible President. He will destroy our Economy." I agree 100% My question: where the hell has common sense in America gone??? I earn my living as a...

Tired of being a retail Broker

We think alike! I hate the "chummy" sh*t more and more everyday. Of course, if you get your book annuitized (in fee based accounts), at around 50mm on a 90% payout, that will certainly pay the average bills at home. Then, trading a small portion of their LNW (5-10% for my clients) in higher...

Tired of being a retail Broker

Michael, I'm an IAR. Investment Advisor Rep. (Series 66) If you're not a Series 24, you'll have to have an Office of Supervisory Supervision. If you want to go it without a firm behind you with a 90% payout, then, you can get your Series 65 or 66, register with your state, and clear through...

turn daytrading into a business ?

One hasn't lived until they've experienced a sand storm in the flesh. I understand fully... Yes, LLC would be the more "common" way to go from what I've seen. I see it in my job too. Now and then, someone will get ticked at their broker, and I'll see the statement with LLC on the top. Most in...

I understand where you're coming from here too. From what I am seeing, compliance is a necessary "entity," as bad as I hate to admit it. However, they have created an "environment" between us- the brokers, and them- compliance so they don't have to pay the regulators big $$$ all the time...

Tired of being a retail Broker

Agreed. Brokers picking stocks, and literally managing those stocks with discression went bye bye years ago. If you're an independent, and your B/D is lax, then maybe... But, I don't know of any big name firms out there allowing it. From what I've seen here is the retail brokerage...

Tired of being a retail Broker

Absolutely 100%! Sell money managers, and funds (A shares if you want compliance to allow you to eat this week:eek: ) FINRA will make stockpicking for brokers a living nightmare in the years to come. Heck, they've already created a nightmare. The compliance beancounters are kissing the...

Tired of being a retail Broker

My problem exactly! I'm not "chummy," and have never been a coctail party kind of guy. I guess when I go what I call an "I'm richer than you" party, my drive to hit the phones, and be "chummy" goes away quickly. I'd rather talk about things people at these parties usually don't, like...

Tired of being a retail Broker

Hello, I'm a newbie here. Love the board! My questions: I'm a Series 7 Broker, and Series 63, 65 Registered Investment Advisor, Life and Health Licensed, and Level II CFA "Candidate." (I "was" going to get level II done this year, but that's too much with my work load right now. Got...
