there's a ton of growth right now for internet advertising. A lot more people use the internet regularly now than the .com days and the advertising is a lot more effective. I'm not sure if facebook is worth $10 billion, but social networking isn't going away anything soon.

seems that many companies are not splitting much these days-RIMM, AAPL, MA are all well over 100 but haven't split in a while or at all. I think GOOG and CME started this trend. :)

if some of these web 2.0 companies go public, we could have another mania in dot coms. Unfortunately google is one of the only companies that is public.

this is just a breakout out of a consolidation, we would have to go much higher if it were parabolic.

yeah the internet/web 2.0 industry is strong right now. I don't think most people realize internet ad spending surpassed the .com bubble highs a couple years ago and its still growing at a steady pace. By the way stock_trad3r, what websites do you run?

actually retail investors have been pretty bearish considering not many are not in the market and investor surveys showed mostly bears. And just look at this board, people calling market tops everyday and saying the economy sucks, do you really think most people are bullish?

yeah odd another survey that was discussed on this board recently said 9% of americans were millionaires. But then again its not easy to get an accurate picture on how many millionaires there are.

a crash makes people more excited, also there are many losing shorts who are hoping for a tank.

well if you want to talk about historical facts, the DOW on average has risen 50% from the bottom of the mid term year to the top of the pre election year (sp and naz more). So the DOW could reach 16k if history repeats itself.

yeah whats with all these permabears lately, guaranteed way of failing at trading.
