    I've lived in phoenix for a number of years and never had a problem. Of course there are some areas that are worse, but generally speaking I feel safe and some of the suburbs are quite safe(e.g. Gilbert, Scottsdale).

    I don't completely understand why you would own a lot more taxes. Wash sales for daytraders shouldn't be a huge deal since your disallowed loss will just be added to the cost basis and therefore your loss will only be delayed.
