i can't tell if you're a spammer or not going back to having an edge...even if your profit factor > 1.0 doesn't mean you necessarily have an edge what if market conditions change 6 months from now and your edge disappears? then what do you do?

how do i know if i have an edge or not? i just started out and i'm semi-profitable although i don't have huge confidence in my system

i've actually been learning alot by watching al brooks in his old youtube videos, he's able to go through tick by tick on Tradestation i'm trying to apply his methods but i think i'm going to do it live real-time with small money (probably start out with 1 contract on the E-mini).

what's the fastest broker out there?

i was actually able to do it in multicharts and linking it to interactive brokers i just realized that replaying data tick by tick is next to useless for me...i learn much more by test trading small. this way i can take emotions into account.

Is there a free way to replay historical data tick by tick? I have market data from Interactive Brokers but I'm trying to replay historical data for the ES to walk forward through a few of my strategies. If not free then what would you guys recommend? Esignal?

How do I do that? Sorry I am slightly computer illiterate. I think the update affected the port. The technical support guy at IB said I was being prevented from accessing the TCP IP port 4000 or something to that effect.

UPDATE: I did a system restore and it worked! Looks like I can log onto Traderworkstation but does this mean I can't get Windows updates anymore? I'm pretty sure it was one of their updates that caused the problem. (I haven't installed any other software between the time TWS was working and...

No this is actually my home computer. I'm able to log onto TWS at work (the java version, haven't tried to do the standalone one). But both JAVA and standalone can't get through some sort of firewall at home. Webtrader works though.
