    Copytrading: What are your thoughts?

Mr. traderjoe200, I think you'll find the correct spelling is lose. Not loose. Proofreading before posting is encouraged. Also, I think you'll find hostility never works on this board. It always leads to bullshit. Finally, Tokenz was only illustrating your point that everyone is...

    Copytrading: What are your thoughts?

I seems like a recipe for disaster to me. What if you have a different type of risk tolerance than the person you're copying? You'll end up saying "Why is their stop so wide?" Or "Why did they stop out so quickly? The trade still looks viable to me". Which begs the question, why are you...

What kind of stop loss to use?

I'm not sure holding time is a factor. I remember Jack Schwager and Jim Rogers having this discussion in Market Wizards. Rogers claimed to be an investor since he would hold positions for years, but Schwager called him a trader because he occasionally sold short and was concerned about market...

What kind of stop loss to use?

You're right. O'neil does use some technicals, such as the 10 week MA. But the canslim model is mainly based on fundamentals. That, to me anyway, is investing. Traders (in my humble opinion) are more short term, use price action and charts, as well as math, and don't care about fundamentals...

What kind of stop loss to use?

Agreed. I never use a percentage move in the stock to determine a stop. I use the chart and then come up with a number of shares in my head to keep my monetary risk consistent. I've never understood why some traders use a percentage move to determine a stop. Let's say I have a 1% stop...

Traders Swarmed 24-Hour Options As Nasdaq Skyrocketed

I don't know why Mr Banerji thinks this is news. Pros have concentrated on the nearest expiration for decades.

    SLAUGHTER on Wall Street

What in the hell just happened? I lost a friend to cancer on Sunday, so I haven't been trading or paying attention. Thank goodness I'm in no positions.

100 Reasons Why Your Strategy Sucks

Technical analysis doesn't work? Well that's a kick in the plumbs. So I guess I should give all of the money I've made over the years to a charity consisting of guys living in their mom's basements who debunk T/A? You may want to post real results before you say such incredibly stupid...

Where do Economic Reports first hit?

TRADING Records for 20 oldtimers will clean this place up a lot!

I read the whole thing, but once I saw "1957 de Havilland Beaver", it brought back a memory. Many moons ago, we used to go fly-in fishing in Canada. Unbelievable times. Drop a worm in the water and get a walleye within a couple of minutes, while being the only people within miles. There was...

TRADING Records for 20 oldtimers will clean this place up a lot!

I hear ya. My dad told me the story of when he got his night cert. He was up at night and said to himself "This sucks!" He was IFR certified shortly thereafter. God, I miss that tough old Marine. (way off topic. Sorry, guys and gals)

Not to be nit picky, but you don't need an IFR rating to fly at night. You DO need a special cert, but IFR is another step.
