Tripack, your post was right on target. I agree with everything you said until this part: Here is the real question to ask. Who is paying for the infrastructure (servers, bandwidth, maintenance, programming, etc..) it takes for IB to provide support to its customers through this site...

The only reason I said call is because the issue at hand has a lot of factors involved and is somewhat complicated, so it's more effective time wise to talk about it over the phone. By the way, thanks to those who have called :)

If regular members have the same priviledges that advertisers have, then there would be no incentive to advertise. All a firm would need to do is register on the site and start soliciting members at will.

Absolutely. His trading journal threads were great until he became a manager and started using his threads as a recruitment platform. I have received many, many complaints about that recently from other members.

Gene Weissman is an advertiser. His firm sponsors the self-employment forum. I agree, the same standards should be, and will be, applied to Hitman just as they apply to def and any other firm representative.

Def works for IB. We don't allow brokers to carry on customer relations (sales, support, etc.) through our forums unless they are a sponsor of the site. The forums are for members to discuss issues with other members, not as an outlet for firms to carry on Q&A sessions with their customers...

Interesting view about page views, but it's one that needs clearing up because it's not correct. Elite Trader does not make money based upon page views. We charge flat monthly rates just like a magazine does. So whether we get 1 million or 1.5 million page views in a month makes no difference...

I haven't received any other complaints on this, so you may want to check things on your end. There could be an ISP along your route to our servers that may be turning down their bandwidth on the weekends in an effort to save money. I don't know, it's just a guess.
