Chart for today. Feedback is appreciated :) . I've started to use some automatic bar coloring logic but I still do laterals etc manually.

Yw. :) As romanus pointed out there's a document as well, Channels for Building Wealth. Really a 'must read', but perhaps a bit confusing if you read it all at once the first time. At least it was too me.

Nice day - the 20 SMA smoothly followed the RTL of the main channels all day (apart from the trend shifts of course). Enjoy the weekend :) .

Fun day. I always try to draw all channels and always have all the "steepest possible" channels on the chart. But sometimes that becomes almost ridiculous with NT. Days like this really give you the opportunity to practice your patience. At about lunch I even had to stop drawing tapes for a...

My attempt, late to the party but still: When change in volume correlate to change in volatility expect continuation; when not, expect change.

I quoted you on that since I really like your charts with comments, and I thought that comment to be funny since so many days I feel I'm continuously snookered :) . I hope you didn't think I was making fun of you  . That said, great explanation of the snookering. cheers, tobbe

From excel you can set the refresh rate using something like this: =myaccount|refreshRate!millisec?100 I don't use Mak's sheet myself. You can find the full documentation for the excel part of the IB API here. Don't set the refresh rate too low or you will have other problems (excel will...

I was completely out of sync today. Probably too little sleep or something. I haven't added the 'bar coloring' inidicators just yet, I'll do that after the weekend when I've had time to go through the scripts to see what they actually do :) . Spyder thanks for posting during the day.

Thank you for going over our charts, and for the advice. I have been reluctant to add 'bar coloring indicators' to my chart because I want to be sure it's me 'seeing', and not only my charting software. But as I think you have mentioned before, that probably leads to unnecessary errors as well...

Quote from ehorn: ...as my skills improve, to not have to jump fractals to stay on the right side of the market... Quote from Avi 8: I believe this is the opposite of what one should do. Too many negations here. What is the right thing to do? I always thought the sport of fractal jumping...

Don't worry too much about shading etc. Spydertrader used qcharts for most of the futures journal as did several other people. Just use any colored line for laterals/pennants (many ppl here like to use yellow for that - check some of the charts from the futures journal and you will see). Many of...
