I have sat thru sessions about NLP, but never could figure out how they were implying to get the job done using it...ie: how to "install" the programming on your hard drive in order to get the job done.

Since Shoney doesn't take your money it makes sense to me to consider them the only game in town, if you are worried about losing seed capital, since all you can "lose" is deferred compensation, which historically they have never reneged on. Otherwise go with a retail or professional firm...

If there were good traders left at Worldco and Hartland, and Broadway.....why wouldn't Shoney give them a home? It must be a little demoralizing for the traders being canned on a continuing basis, but hey....this is a tough business. I hear they are not doing much of any training anymore...

I think you have to be "gainfully" employed.....how many prop traders can say that they truly are??

Funny...I have a retail account with Fidelity....a longer term account....they route everything to Boston or Chicago and the executions are awful.....would be much better in NY!

How do you guys really KNOW what is going on down there? All these big cap stocks are slaves to the S&P 500....which giggle around all day due to the programs........

A very telling story.....year to year, the listed markets are up 30%, NASDAQ 50% and most prop firms struggling to stay afloat. While not entirely impossible, day trading, in "normal" markets is very very difficult.

If 40% of volume is program trading....what % is natural buying and selling, or REAL professionals positioning blocks which results in the same shares traded over and over again till they flatten out? What % is the public? I mean...who is everyone scalping with? eachother? Rather...

Let this tread be a lesson to all "traders" willing to put up a few thousand dollars in order to get hundreds of thousands of capital to trade. Sooner or later the SEC wakes up to every scam, and boy has this prop idea been better than the bucket shops could ever imagine. And the majority...

if "training" could really do the job....any amount would be well worth it....I've spend hundreds of thousands on my trading education.....but hey....med, or law, or fllight school isn't cheap too......I guess the issue here is whether training at Bright which you pay for....is as good as...
