    Price, Vol. How many Contracts?

Coaxing isn't really an applicable description. A trade of any size can move the market, or not. Every trade down to a 1 lot will affect the market. You also need to be clear as to what you mean by move the market: a change in last traded price or simply a rise/fall in the best bid or...

Sorry to stray off topic but I had to respond to this. I have seen mr marcus trade live on a number of occasions and he is an extremely talented trader, absolutely the real deal. Endlessly inventive, empathetic and logically analytical, always trying to push his trading to the limit (when was...

What is the nickname for the EUR?

USD/GBP is has the soubriquet cable cause of one that connects our nations under the ocean, but solo GBP is known as note, smacker, nicker, paaan, sponduli[k]), quid, joey, maggie and finally dollar (only when counting trading losses, thus reducing them to 0.85 of their original size) :) I...

Quick question for anyone who trades more than 10 lots of YM, if I may: do you bother using iceberg limit orders to hide your true size, that is if your broker lets you simulate this type of order? I know IB do, but not sure about others.

For actually taking signals from, it depends on what kind of day we're having and what time it is. e.g I might use a 2 second chart to trade payroll data, a 30 second chart over lunch, a 1 minute chart for rangy chop or a 10 minute to trade a no-brainer trend day. There is often what you...

http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/CBOT.php?ib_entity=uk The exchange fee is $0.90 per side + $0.02 regulatory fee for a non-member. For a member it is $0.10 per side. As a non-member doing 1000 rts/month I was quoted $2.94 r/t by Transact, worked out like this...

To trade YM you only need lease an IDEM seat for around $161 a month which should bring round trip costs down to around $1.50 per lot all in, for a small retail trader doing 1000 lots per month, depending on broker. If you do big volume you should be able to knock this down a lot further...

Glad you like them Stalker, thanks. Took me a while to get them looking half pretty. :) The answer's yes to your BT question. Once the initial order is filled the brackets are transmitted to IB. You can check your TWS API page to make sure of this. The only danger, as I said to sandygray...

Sandy, I am very pleased with BT and it works consistently and swiftly. IMHO well worth the small once off fee (or free if you can put up with the hideous noise it makes - but this can be hacked with a resource editor, or simply turn your PC sound down!) However there are a couple of things...

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

How about the option to include (futures) commission in the total P&L figure on the main page? Ideally this would be automatically calculated so that if you are, say, on unbundled futures prices, it knows how many trades you've made that month and subtracts the correct commission per trade...

Forgive the intrusion of a noob with silly charts containing superfluous and subjective geometry. :-) I just wonder if we might struggle up to 600 (cash) tomorrow? Am from "the other place" ;-) but have been enjoying this thread too. :)

IB - stops not triggering (again)

I believe STOP orders destined for eCBOT are not triggered out of hours by IB, even if you have ticked the trigger out of hours box. You have to use STOP LIMITS or conditional orders.
