Let me tell you re-read the first post dumbass. The money is SPIC insured. Safety is not the issue, there is little 'safety' in this business of risk. The issue is dealing with professionals in a professional envirnment. I've visiting a prop firm that blasts tecno music during lunch time. I...

    Huge Losses

If you can't afford to loss all your risk capital then you can't afford to trade. Don't encourage this guy with any hope that he may be profitable - cause then you're an 'enabler' of his trading addiction.

Get rid of Alan Greenspace and the Fed?

Well from what I've read the FED made the depression MUCH WORSE than it would have been without their interference. And what's wrong with depressions, if millions of people invest all their net worth in boo.com then they deserve bankrupcy. That enables the responsible people who didn't get so...

Anyone else get negative response when you explain career?

Most people tend to habor negative feelings towards the market. Primarily because they suck at investing and know a lot of other people who also suck at investing. Think about it: they never made any money off the gold bubble in the earlier 80s, never made any money off the equities bubble in...

Effect of automated trading on Markets

Yeah you figure post 911, and with all these hedge funds that markets would be as volitile as ever...but no the mean revert bots have prevented that. How do you know if it's luck or real edge?

if you think you have an edge then basically you see yourself as a casino in the market you trade and all other market participants in that market as gamblers:p

How do you know if it's luck or real edge?

The mythical edge. If your a broker - you have an edge in trading, if your a specialist or MM - you have and edge in trading, if you sell books/courses/systems - you have an edge. You have no edge if you simply buy and sell stocks/futures all day long, because what do you have the others don't...
