    Question for ET Landlords

The issue is rent control. In a NJ town, my father bought a 4 unit apartment building in 1989 for 200k. The market value of the building now is at least a million dollars, and the market value of the rent for each of the apartments is about 1300 each. The rents for each of the apartments back...

The birth of a trillion dollar fund manager, Laurence Fink Moving Markets

Yeah the euro zone economies may have bad fundementals due to the socialists there but I doubt the ECB is printing euros at a double digit hyperinflationary pace. The ECB has a mandate to keep inflation within a targeted range but I don't know how much of their sucess is due to: statistical...

    Elite Trader Praised by Barron's

Nice job Baron. ET is the #1 resource for traders. My only suggestion is that for 2006, tell the moderators to keep the career trolls from destroying great threads and discussions. There are a lot of big time traders and money managers on this site that refuse to post because of the trolls.

Interesting, I'd like to hear about how prop traders can take advantage of this.

    The S&P will end 2005 @

Nice call Rubber, you think the highs are behind us? Volume seemed weak. I would've like to seen 1280 firmly rejected and then look for a lower close. I was thinking maybe Wednesday, followed by more intense selling on thurs. and fri. to close out the week.

    Economics Majors

As far as trading goes, no college degree while help you, experience is the best teacher (so is a really succesful trader as a mentor). As far as an economics degree, I have one and its pretty worthless imo. I wish I studed something in the life sciences or computer science instead.

Is any body out there who was in a similar situation?

Thousand, I'd suggest you get your experience as a trader off your resume - it is death on any resume unless your a trader for an IB or hedge fund. They see trader and they see a guy who's unafraid to take risks and be entrepeneurial and will probably just use the job as a stepping stone or as...

    What's so bad about deflation?

Yeah that's why debt laden nations prefer hyperinflation. Tax, spend, and consume ad infinitum.

Democrats Don't Want Libby to Be Pardoned

Oh come on get off it, Plame was a WMD expert who worked Deep Undercover (no diplomatic protection) in many countries. She probably made many connections with people who helped her (and this country) learn about WMD programs in those countries. After she was outed all those people who she came...

    IB's new US equity commission

If true, that'll blow away all the competition. I wonder how they will respond, especially Genesis.

Yo Ricky, you provide some good insights from time to time but please get with the program and start using the quote button when replying to someone's post. It is located on the lower left-hand corner of my reply. Looks like: Edit/Delete • Quote • Complain Give it a shot.

Going for the gold - hedge against the apocalypse

Same pattern over and over. The Great Theivery: Government confiscates wealth from citizens. Government takes on more and more debt than it can ever repay despite confiscating more and more wealth from its citizens. Government hyperinflates away its debt, debases its currency. What...

    Dow 40K?

Yeah when a six-inch subway sandwich cost $30 the Dow will be at 40,000. Its called hyperinflation.

    Middle class revolt

These debt numbers say nothing about debt quality. There is a difference between throwing money down the drain and making smart investements for the future. I think in this country we're just throwing money down the drain by spending it on: war, welfare for the irresponsible poor, and welfare...
