    Whats going on with Pension?

Sure, but you have to know what account type you have - is your money with Penson, or is it with MB in a sweep-back-&-forth type deal? If it's with Penson (most futures traders will be), then when MB changes clearing firms, you get left behind with Penson. If sweep, you probably go with MB . .

    Whats going on with Pension?

I pulled everything when they proudly announced to Wall St. that they were combining a couple of units to free up $30 mil of what used to be regulatory capital. Translation: customer accounts $30M less secure - they needed that capital to keep operating . .

velocity futures - account funding & currency exchange rates

I don't think they're being evasive - it's just a sort of bureaucratic run-around, because all of these departments are separate, & don't really talk to each other. Velocity is not a bank, & doesn't make it's money on currency conversions. They have no vested interest in giving you a crappy...

velocity futures - account funding & currency exchange rates

Keep in mind there is a $20 conversion fee every time you convert currency. This will happen if you request a conversion, or automatically if you incur a loss in another currency, or if you request it converted back after an automatic conversion. As for the conversion rate, it's some sort...

Glencore suffers losses in cotton trading

I find that most of the time, Financial Times Links do not lead to the actual article - even if you are registered (which I am). Too many "want to subscribe?" popups, redirects, & re-redirects. I tried both of the above without success. Thanks for posting the story, though - will try to...

Wow, tough post. Takes guts to post something like that in public - I would just vanish into history unnoticed . .

Great rate, great service, great attitude

?????? wtf? Where was there any review? People in this forum seem to have enormous difficulty distinguishing fact from opinion. Here's a quick test, see if you can pass it: 1. "You wire $$ directly to Crossland" 2. "Your trades are cleared through Crossland" 3. "I think...

Great rate, great service, great attitude

I chose DDT because I could quantify in advance exactly what all costs/fees/Margins would be. Total transparency. I could not find that information for Crossland anywhere. I believe this is standard practice (& probably good business) for most FCM's - as they don't want to be out in the mkt...

Great rate, great service, great attitude

Velocity is my other broker, and I also give them high marks - I have been very happy with them (I just prefer to have 2 - redundant data feed, etc.). I had a broker a couple of years ago that I was unhappy with (who shall remain nameless . . ), but both Velocity and Deep Discount Trading...

I suggest you call. At the bottom of the website there is a number - I'm sure you can get a straight answer quickly.

Great rate, great service, great attitude

If you've traded futures before, know what you need, & know what to look for in a FCM, then a pretty website is about as important as worrying over what color computer to buy.

Great rate, great service, great attitude

Ummm . . better yet, observe F**ing reality. When selecting a broker, no one wants to hear your beliefs about how the world is supposed to work. They want to hear about FACT. The fact is that DDT & Crossland is an excellent operation. That is my real-world experience from trading with...

Great rate, great service, great attitude

I second the motion . . Crossland is an excellent FCM, & Howard responds very quickly if you ever need anything. Nothing but high marks all-around.

    RIP Thinkorswim

Do you have options/futures enabled on your account? I wonder if they're limiting the available tools per account type. Maybe they see ToS as unnecessary for stock traders? (pure conjecture on my part).

    RIP Thinkorswim

Hmm . . Strange, indeed. Mine shows: "Overview, Tdameritrade.com, TradeArchitect, Thinkorswim from TDAmeritrade, Mobile." ThinkorSwim & thinkorswim Mobile are the only platforms through which you can trade futures. TDA website & TradeArchitect are stocks/options only. Maybe yours...

    RIP Thinkorswim

Yes, it definitely will - in fact, they are phasing out all of their other offerings to focus on that exclusively. As of this friday (tomorrow), all TDA account holders' only option is the ToS platform unless they specifically chose to opt-out and stay with an older platform (Command Center...
