    options . . . very hard to make money

    It's possible to be very successful for a few years as a bull market, one-way trader . . . That's also true if you're using leverage.

    options . . . very hard to make money

    OK, this gets closer to the real difference between equity and options trading. You say that predicting volatility is easier than predicting price. I don't see why that's the case - volatility is a function of price, I don't see how predicting volatility is easier. Your explanation is that...

    options . . . very hard to make money

    I've come to the conclusion that there are no retail options traders who consistently make money. The arguments for options make no sense. Hedging: the best form of hedge is going to cash. Leverage: I can get plenty of movement on my equity curve with margin alone, I don't need options to give...

    IB - so frustrating! Keep ending up with leftover shares!

    I've got 500 yen, 2.5 Euros, and 77 Canadian $s in my account. I've even entered a trade for $1.50 to sell the 2.50 in Euros, and the zombie Euros will not die. I've read that Ideal (not Ideal pro) is supposed to be used for these leftovers . . . I don't know, maybe I'll get a check for 500 yen...

    I appreciate lescor's willingness to tolerate me on this thread. It looks like Magna the moderator barred me and deleted my posts. By the way, here are Tuco trading results from 2007. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.tflinc.com/media/ExhibitA_part1v2.pdf

    Average profit % / month for PRO traders

    I'd shoot for better results than 2-3%/month . . . If you're going to do it full-time on a small account, 50% would be the goal. You can lever up some dividend stocks and get the equivalent of 20% year.

    failed Eurusd breakout -> breakdown?

    The Eur is struggling at the 1.30 level after a very strong run . . . A break back below 1.30 might initiate new trend, as failed breakouts can turn into breakdowns. Plus, this dead cat bounce is running into reality . . . the euro has not solved any of its fundamental problems and is still...

    Forex Training - Let's Share the Cost of a Course

    I always like the *consistently* part in pitches like this. I doubt many traders are that consistent . . . I could be wrong, I bet most traders, even the profitable ones, have down months, and one or two big months a year to compensate for the dry spells.

    Is USD/JPY a chronic long

    83% of FXCM customers are short the yen . . . For some reason, I don't think Soros trades at FXCM at 100-1 leverage on his free $25 starter account. http://www.dailyfx.com/technical_analysis/sentiment/ So you're short puts . . . until something happens. I'd rather be long puts . . . in...

    Is USD/JPY a chronic long

    The chart is very bullish for the yen . . . when the price action and the sentiment are at odds, go with the chart. Japan could be the only island of stability in a world of high spending and weak exports (the US) and political indecision (Euro). And as a funding currency, it would benefit from...
