Corn is an excellent place for a new trader to start. Moves slow, few whipsaws, tight Bid/Ask spread so it is always easy to get out if you are wrong. Soybeans on the other hand . . .

By and large what I saw when there was that they do not pay all that well for the relative cost of living, generally speaking. This is due mainly to the large pool of cheap (mostly illegal immigrant) labor. Without which they could not do without. So many things are dependant on that labor...

Corona del Mar - Newport Coast - Laguna Beach would be my choice. Used to live in Santa Ana Canyon just east of Anaheim Hills, can get hot there occaisionally but Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda is a nice area.

The floor traders are probably making money off all the market moves created by the 70% of traders doing it electronically. The vast majority of whom lose money. Tho electronic and pit contracts are seperate but they always seem to move in tandem. Not sure which contract is following the...

I have to agree with that. I used to read every bit of news I could get my hands on and was glued to the Weather Channel. Just follow price and forget the news.

Used to work in SD. Weather is the best in the country.

And they haven't even started funding health care for all the illegals yet. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Starting Aug. 1 CBOT is starting side-by-side pit trading and electronic trading. Will we be able to trade the current ECBOT futures that IB offers during pit hours?

I appreciate that IB has added some CBOT pit traded contracts. Any idea how soon we would be able to trade wheat at CBOT and KCBOT?

Just go to the CBOT website and pull up the quotes and it tells you how much volume is currently in each month.
