High LDL Cholesterol Is Not A Health 'Problem' & Other Facts

This statement is highly questionable. A true example of an omnivore is a bear. from: http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/2062/ana.HTML "In general, bears exhibit anatomical features consistent with a carnivorous diet. The jaw joint of bears is in the same plane as the molar teeth. The...

    Chat Problems

Hi Baron, I couldn't agree with TheStudent more. As a long time chat regular, I hope you find a way to keep the chat going. I know we are relatively few but like stu says, chatters add to the board traffic and loyalty to ET- chatters always have an ET window open and rarely a day goes by...

High LDL Cholesterol Is Not A Health 'Problem' & Other Facts

I haven't seen any stats, but I would guess they have minimal heart disease. Multiple studies in humans have shown that total cholesterol under 150 results in zero incidence of heart disease.

Fairness doctrine is proof most liberals are socialist

Yep, sadly Bush followed right in Clinton's tradition of war crimes against civilians. Let us hope Obama refuses this all too well worn path.

Just noticed these scummy options exchanges charge 1.50 to cancel

Your theory does not fully add up. The newer, all electronic ISE charges 2.00 per cancel, .5 more than the 'legacy' CBOE. http://www.ise.com/assets//documents//OptionsExchange//legal/fee/fee_schedule.pdf

    Easy option money?

Maybe your friend is taken with the idea of getting the dec call for .50 net debit instead of 10.50. Trading options is all about trade offs. The trade off here for the cheap dec call is the risk of the short nov call. Meaning all your possible profit from correcting guessing direction could...

    Cancellation fee with IB ...

TOS as well as many other brokers do not charge these fees. They are not direct pass throughs. Look at the exchanges' rule books. You will find IB charges the cancel fees according to their own, distinct logic. With IB's fees on CBOE for example, canceling and re-pricing your option order...

    IQ Feed vs. IB feed

I don't think anyone mentioned the key difference: DTNIQ provides every single trade. IB aggregates. I don't get the bad mouthing of DTN on this thread. Being a customer for around 5 years, I have nothing but praise for them. The data is fast, accurate and complete. Further, their customer...

    Should cigarettes be banned?

Interesting that even those brave enough to admit smoking mostly do not confess benefit. I'm not defending or advocating smoking, but to say smoking has no benefit beyond satisfying addicition does not fit my experience. Tobacco/nicotine is a smart drug. Through increasing dopamine and...

    S&P Emini Options Volumes

    Chat Problems

I am unable to log into chat at all today. I am using Mac OS X 10.4.11 and have tried on 2 different browsers- Safari 3.04 and Firefox 2.0.0.9. The java console on Safari gives the following log entry: basic: Referencing classloader: sun.plugin.ClassLoaderInfo@490eb5, refcount=1 basic...

    SPX index options

SPX went hybrid 2 days ago (9/25/07). Its apparently a watered down version of hybrid- http://www.cboe.org/publish/RegCir/RG07-097.pdf. I can discern no difference so far- spreads are still large, orders placed between posted bid and ask are still outcried and only 1 MM is allowed to stream...

    SPX index options

While ES option spreads may be 50% smaller, its important to remember that SPX options have 2x the leverage of ES options. So, delta wise, its not that big a difference.

How to pull the rug on SPX market makers

How to pull the rug on SPX market makers

More outright wrong information, imagine that..... SPX has been setting volume records as recently as in the last month. So much for draining the moat. :D " The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the largest options exchange in the U.S., announced the busiest trading day in its 34-year...

How to pull the rug on SPX market makers

I don't think this has been mentioned in this thread, and yes, going more electronic will be an interesting change for SPX. From the little I have read of the new system, its a bit different from the existing CBOE hybrid. IBs marketing of additional floor presence in light of hybrid's immanent...
