    The APPLE Crash

I agree. What goes up (like that) must come down. In 2010 already I thought it was toppish, I underestimated the popularity of the company's new products and the power of QE (Apple shareholders as all shareholders certainly have to thank Bubble Bernanke as well) . Apple may become a tablet...

    Performance Reporting

I realized I have a problem to accurately report the performance of an account I use to build a live track record. The broker only reports equity in the account without taking into account marked- to- market open positions, this gives a misleading picture of the account (smooth equity curve) as...

    FACEBOOK has no second act

God forbid , that's the worst thing that could happen for privacy. But that's indeed the way things may go if we don't pay attention. Google is moving in that direction, Facebook and Google are really two evil companies. Anyone who cares about freedom and privacy should RUN RUN AWAY from...

    the coverage of UK FSCS

Oanda isn't providing any information about the coverage othetr than the mention on their website, the y decline to provide details and refer you to the FSA which is not a good sign. I think it's not what you would expect from a reputable company. I once called the FSA then the compensation...

Who was tipped on central bank intervention ?

Something is definitely fishy , right at 6 am there was a very sharp reversal out of nowhere in AUD/USD and EUR/USD, the former jumping 80 pips in a few minutes, 30 pips in one minute (somewhat unusual for ozzie) . Was there any news behind that pop ? If there weren't , I guess someone traded...

    Price - NAV?

Here's my 2 cents , AFAIK ETF's that don't track closely the NAV are often niche ETF's or ETF's from second tier providers (i.e other than the big 3 in the US ) . So whether the price tracks NAV may have more to do with the liquidity and popularity of the product rather than value .

Bundesbank´s Weidmann:"ECB intervention would be violation of laws."

The Bundesbank is the last bastion of monetary common sense to guard Europeans against those who have abandoned all basic principles. Let's face it central banks aren't going to save the day, a recession is not that bad , even a lost decade is not that bad , ask the Japanese, they are doing...

Why you should average up, NEVER down

B.S. Averaging up is most of the time not a good idea, except if you trade stocks where moves can be very large over the medium term. For short term trading in some markets , averaging down is a good strategy if and only if it's part of the initial plan. You can average down even when that was...

Is IB safe enough to use as a bank for > 500,000 USD?

btw are customers at IB UK protected by SIPC ? I saw a document implying that IB UK customers/accounts were under UK and FSA jurisdiction and thus not covered by SIPC.

Since October 4th 2011, the SPX is up 19.5% the dow is up 17.33%, in 17 trading days!

Fed must have been buying futures in concertation with other central banks . Who else would buy ? Not retail and mutual funds : individual investors would have to be crazy to buy stocks given what happened in the past ten years, they swore stocks off a long time ago . Not hedgies; they...

"Occupiers" push Nov. 1 for U.S. to stop paying mortgages en masse.

Homeowners who don't pay their mortgage ought to be kicked out or straight to jail , whatever happened to personal responsibility in today's world ? Idiot homeowners who bought between 2004 and 2007 are a big part of our problems . Subprimes and ninja loans were great actually for people who...

60 years of socialism has destroyed Europe

You are totally ignorant , probably never left the US all your life lol , you remind me of those americans who think Europeans don't shower daily and that their women don't shave armpits. I guess those myths date back from WWII .
