    BBBY

there are many trader making their money almost soley based on shorting small caps on pops. It's all about risk managment and positive EV. You have to know what you short and what the risks associated with it are. Most of those traders don't hold bigger positions overnight. BBBY is a meme stock...

    RUSL suspended by Direxion

yeah sure, but NAV can go negative (they get the 200% via swaps and stuff, so potential higher liabilites than assets at some point), ie. RUSL at 0.

NAV is +/- 0 now, maybe even negative, no? Main holdings Gazprom and Sberbank are down 42 and 70% today in USD. and RUSL is x2

Breaking: Russian nuclear deterrent on alert :BBC

And I also cannot see how Ukraine could agree to any peace deal with Russian forces to stay on their territory... Only solution seems to be to fight it out, hopefully "only" with conventional weapons ... Still a long and bloody war

Breaking: Russian nuclear deterrent on alert :BBC

The RUSL ETF might hit 0 value tomorrow, at 2x leverage a 50% drop will make it worthless. With RUB down that much and a drop in stocks in Moscow, this can easily happen in $ denomination

    RUSL suspended by Direxion

Underlying stocks and their ADRs (sponsor Sberbank among others) are at risk of not being tradeable. Exclusion of swift will make it impossible to trade them anymore. And Putin might do more crazy stuff, I would not be entirely surprised if he fully nationalized Gazprom and/or declares foreign...

Anyone had a short recalled on them?

Make sure you factor in borrowing cost and if applicable locate fees. Borrowing costs are huge on some popular penny stocks or low floaters.

Is it legal for IBKR to loan out a much bigger amount of shares from the client small margin loan

Ah, i see. I like the extra yield, although it's pretty low on most stocks. I dont know how far short availability and borrow fees have an effect on stock prices. On nano cap and micro cap i feel like it does but on the big names i doubt it.

Is it legal for IBKR to loan out a much bigger amount of shares from the client small margin loan

You can check lending/borrowing activity in the activity statement further down. There you see how many are lent out and the collateral and interest. Ibkr keeps half of interest paid (borrow fee) by others for your shares.

TSLA: Musk to sell 10% of stake

I think he will. And he has a good excuse (vote was yes...) for selling at what he probably thinks is way overvalued prices. He still gets some hate of course from all the tsla followers...

TSLA: Musk to sell 10% of stake

He said he will follow the vote, which stands at 57% yes. Watch out for dump on monday. Tsla is being traded for 1135$ in tokenized stocks right now (FTX), around 8% lower.

    'Safe' shorting with protective calls?

Spreads are lower and liquidity better on those OTM calls than on the ITM puts. I would expect you to be fine with Portfolio Margin even on a huge spike (like PHUN) but i would not bet on it. Valuation might be off during such a halt squeeze frenzy resulting in unintended consequences, ie...

    GWH: What am i missing?

I'd like to give a quick look at results of this trade in order for others who might run into something like that. I did end up selling the 12.5/17.5 call spread at around 4.8$: -12.5c + 17.5c and sold the 12.5/17.5 put spread at around 0.8$: -17.5p + 12.5p Seemingly giving a risk free profit...
