The quote is Cardwell's, not mine, and it is in the context of RSI. Sorry, but relating my nickname to the quote has lost me?

personal trader for a Living ?!

Fx manager, Ok, ok I'm sold. Do you want to collect in person or shall I wire you the money? And if I'm first will you give me an exclusive because everyone here will want in on the action and liquidity might then become a problem?

Thanks MandelbrotSet. I read Clayburg's book looking for ideas but didn't get much because I think I have perhaps taken it to another level. However what interested me was how much information can be gleaned out of a few squiggly lines - his approach being so far removed from mine. I combine...

    Stochastics

Stochastics are brilliant at giving a current assessment on PA and a future projection on the amplitude of the next move. If I'm expecting a bigger move, stochastics in pairs will help me trade the minor waves while still pointing to the primary direction. This allows me to ignore noise/false...

Rumours of Britains biggest bank insolvency...?

Can't find any info on this - got any internet sources? Northern Rock is tiny compared to Halifax Bank and the collapse of Halifax would endanger the British banking system, but it is owned by the Highly Stupid Bank of China - should be assets there to cover it as Asia was not hit so hard by...

JRMaynard, you've acquitted yourself with honour. As I see it they maintain you (and I) don't understand the market - fair enough. We are shortsighted and only want to buy rises and sell falls with the safety of a stop loss... because we (unlike them) know we don't understand the market and are...

    Stochastics

Like most indicators there are several points to remember when using stochastics... 1. If they trigger early it's called divergence 2. If they trigger on time it's called prefection 3. If they trigger late it's politely called "too late to be of any use" 4. Above 80 triggers a Pop Buy signal...

I know i'm sounding redundant but, a good starter setup?

If you want to investigate indicators and all kinds of tools Ensign has to be given a good look at. It comes with dozens of templates that would take you forever to develop (the standard set up for most indicators often isn't very good). You can get a 1 week free trial but it needs a datafeed...

Where Did You Find your Strategy?

In bed. I find myself thinking, what if... Then I get up and try to make it happen - I don't quit until I'm making some headway. Then I test and refine and come up with another idea. When I'm stuck I get a good friend to write a programme for me - or I guess a patch would be more accurate...

gpgpgod asks "do you use close or high/low for the pattern? what is the best time frame for it?" I use the "reversal zone" ie depending on prior line up of price action this will be price extreme or close or open. Patterns occur in every timeframe for the WW. There isn't a "best one"...

    Wolfe Waves Paterns

ok got it. We always used WW for direction and target. Getting in and out were done on a smaller timeframe where the signal is usually pretty obvious.

gpgpgod says... "The time activity issue is my major problem at the moment. the ETA thing seems to be dependent on other stuff... Any ideas?" Time activity? ETA dependent on other stuff? Can you explain what you mean please?

2/3 years back a friend put me on to this. He didn't do the course but read enough to figure it out and has been using WW successfully for about 2 years before that. It works very well in any timeframe.

Why scalping beats any other trading style

oops - too much whisky ;) Anyway bsmeter2, this is a reflection of who you know rather than what you know. For me the opposite is true, but that doesn't validate the point. A zig-zag is longer than a straight line. The maximum profits are gained by trading the waves - that's simple maths...

Why scalping beats any other trading style

Bsmeter says...My experience has been otherwise. All the wealthy traders I know are position traders. All the scalpers I know are still driving that same car they bought 10 years ago and bring lunch to the office.
