Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

ANother good week, was a full week of trading. Not much trading on Monday tuesday, quite a few more trades thursday and friday. Best trades - EMKR (catching a big piece of the jump on friday), as well as FSLR (catching the jump from thursday to friday). Was up to the point where I could...

Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

Light trading last week, no blotter. Goal for end of the week was $7500 to be on pace. Was somewhere around that range. This week has been a full week of trading, will post results by end of tomorrow along with blotter. Goal to be on target is $8000 as of May 2nd.

    Tuco Traders: please read

you realize this is how the industry works and no yelling at the receiver will make a lick of difference. unless the court orders him to make a distribution sooner, he has all the time he wants to milk for fees, and search into things. yelling at the receiver will just piss him off more and...

    AMZN play into earnings?

ANyone playing the options on this? I know the risk of the premium dissapearing is quite large, what do people think of the straddle @ 80? If it makes a big move (like last summer), it could pay off.

    AMZN and AAPL earnings soon

go back as far as you can remember and see when the last time Apple missed.... not saying they won't miss now, but they have a history of guiding lower, then beating expectations (duh). Amazon on the other hand, love to hate that frigger.

Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

This week - Again, not too many trades (under 10). Seems to be the key to me having better weeks! Mostly stuck with smaller $ value stocks, stayed away from RIMM and AAPL though if I would have gone in, would have had some nice gains. Had two "losers" but what counts is I followed my...

Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

My selection criteria is a mix... I look for highly liquid stocks that tend to *not* trade in a tight band. Even some of the low priced stocks like AMD/ETFC and others will trade up or down 2-4% in a day. On top of that I use technicals to try find entry and exit points.

Boo friggin hoo. it's called part of the dues you pay to be a part of the profession. Everyone who is licensed pays those fees, why should you be exempt? I pay out the wazoo to be a certified accountant, but I can't complain, I make good money doing what I do. If the exchanges want to charge...

    Tuco not an anomaly

How are they supposed to break in? Do what people used to have to do. Work hard, save some money, then invest it. You're all fortunate now you can open an account with next to nothing. Years ago, only the fortunate had accounts.

Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

Thanks for the comments. My biggest problem to date has been using "mental" stops, rather than physically setting them. I'm still figuring out bracket orders on this platform, so when I've said I've "missed" exit points, it's mostly been because I had mentally had an exit point set, and the...

Taking $5K to 25K by the end of the year

Well, another quiet week. I think I had less than 10 trades this whole week. My hold through last weekend worked out, I had numerous opportunities to exit, but I stayed in most of the week. Picked up what I wanted. Sitting on two positions now which I plan on holding a few days. It seems my...
