    pro futures firms

Maybe he was talking specifically about the SPY leading a little bit because so many peple anticipating the futures turning points who are trading the SPY. Also being less liquid then the futures could also cause people to get in a little early to get filled. I don't know for sure but just a...

    Gr8trade vs. REDI+

I am not an ETG trader but have traded on the gr8 trade. I am guessing if they do not like it is because it is not set up that well for traders who do a lot of the traditional NY trading like imbalance orders. Both are rather unreliable and slow for execution speed. I know there are some...

    PIMCO on Floor Vs. Screen

So is Eurex planning on offering the electronic version of the large S&P contract?

    Pyrapoint

Sarasota is not a spammer and is a damn good trader. He has been tearing it up for a long time now, which I am guessing is even before he started talking to you. Also you have to be careful of who you get your info from because there are numerous posters on this board that sit at their "real...

    Your opinion on Altea Trading

I spoke to one of the head guys thru email several months ago. He was very open to answering questions about their program extensively. They tend to trade the US bond, bund, bobl, and for the most part stayed away from the eminis. At the time they would have let me go out to chicago for a few...

    Tradingmarkets.com

I have a few people in my office right now that have been or are currently "trading guru" for different websites. If they are any indication of the type of traders behind the instructional websites then I would avoid them all. One use work for Tradingmarkets and he still makes money, but not...

    Andover Takeover

Have you heard any number being thrown around for how much Andover went for or what the terms of the deal were for. I am interested to see how it compared to Cybertraders deal a few years ago.

    Prop Firms In Chicago

From what I here there seem to be several firms doing prop futures trading in Chicago. A lot of them focus on the European futures like the Bund. Is that what you have heard about too? I wonder if the success rate of prop futures traders is still the same as stock prop traders or if it is better.

Spam after less than an hour membership?

So if you know she does this along with the emails then why don't you block her? It sounds like she has been warned several times already and is obviously not paying attention. I know that we have to put up with some advertising from paid sponsors in order to keep the forum going, but the PM...

    volatitliy poor last few days

You are right. You miss the one move in the morning and you are basically screwed the rest of the day. These are the type of days where having no disipline to stop trading will kill you.

    Quiet in trading room

How did you have to change your thinking to trade eminis from trading stocks? Most stocks traders I know who tried to make the switch did not do that well. I think they were so used to reading the specialist/market makers that they did not know what to do with the eminis where you can't do that.

Recent trading conditions of Nas vs NYSE

Has anyone else noticed the new leadership that the nasdaq market and stocks have taken since the last recent low. Some of the Nasdaq stocks seem to have come back to life compared to many of the S&P large caps. There seem to be expanded ranges again and some nice volatility. I had basically...

    What are Liquidity traders doing?

Do you think you had the same problems as many liquidity traders in your office, assuming you were not trading from home? Do you know of people still trading that one or did they have to adapt to the changing environment or reverse split and lower ECN pricing?

    What are Liquidity traders doing?

I am kind of surprised by the lack of response seeing as a few months ago there were several traders posting about liquidity trading. Maybe the lack of response is a telling sign of that style of trading at the moment.

    Comission and Bullet Rates

I don't know about traders getting 3.5 for trading 10K shares a day but I know a lot of LLC's that will take traders trading 150-200K shares a day and give them 3.5 base + ECN and SEC fees. They will also provide buying power. For the most part these are not geared toward the newbie trader but...

    Worldco - Dimitiri

Several months ago I saw an advertisement where his hedge fund was hiring an assistant yet experienced trader to help with his fund which was trading stocks, bonds, and futures. He had a website too but I can't remember the name of the hedge fund to find the website.

    What are Liquidity traders doing?

I know awhile back there were many threads on liquidity traders and lots of offices popping up to offer this service. I wanted to see if any liquidity traders are still around now that supermontage has been implemented, ECN rebate prices have fallen, and many stocks did reverse splits. If you...

Is DayTrading Stocks Even Worth it Anymore?

I think that has hit a lot of the people recently who have been able to make money in the current market. They are able to pay the bills and some are able to still afford nice lifestyles, but they are not currently making the type of money that would make someone rich. Some of the people that...

Is DayTrading Stocks Even Worth it Anymore?

I still thinking daytrading is viable because I still make money and I know too many other people that make money consistently. Having said that I think it has changed and continues to change rapidly so you always have to be evaluating what you are doing compared to your results. This last...
