I think there's a bit of support around 680, but this selloff has been quite steep.
We're at an important pivot point... for either long or short.. these past few days could be a pullback to go short or the start of a recovery. I'm setting my stops to play either side ;)
I found myself doing that.. and then getting fearful of losses.. but Dave Landry had a great webcast the other week about just getting small.. so I've been trading with extremely small positions to get my groove back. I think it helps... the trades are almost not even worth making so I don't...
Acrary's method is what worked for him, since it suited his personality/mentality. The thing I admire most about his systems is the consistency he achieved. I look to set something similar up. However, I wouldn't get all caught up in trying to interperet his words. I'd focus less on what...
"I would trade 100% strategic and 0% tactical. By this, I mean I would diversify simple trading styles like trend, countertrend and rangebound over time and markets. I wasted too much time and effort on when to buy and when to sell. My time would've been better served asking; "should I be long...
Well said, Acrary. I thoroughly enjoy your insightful posts, since I'm actually in the beginning stages of my trading path, working on systems development along the lines of what you've posted about (multiple uncorrelated strategies for diff. types of trends employed across uncorrelated...

But I trade them like any other vehicle.. charts look the same as anything else :P Although oft they are less volatile than some of the stocks I'm trading.
lol. me too.. ;)
But I second St. Jude's. My fav. charity.
Yet there are so many ways to help out on the personal level by volunteering or on the monetary level by donating, etc... each has their own rewards I think; but as a person, you can only do so much... that's why it's so hard to...
"The loss of my money is a very bitter pill to swallow as it was payment for my house, which I had sold in Chiredzi. "
Whoa.. 1.2Bln?? USD?... what the hell kind of house did he sell?
Sucks to be that guy. I feel *slightly* better now. :P
What if that 50% dd turns into a 80 or 90% dd? You assume that just b/c he had a nice recovery he can do it again.
I can lose my own money. Must be one hell of a psychological rollercoaster though.
When in doubt, exit half. Don't think, just do.
If still in doubt, exit half again. That way your position size will be relatively small in the end yet if you still want to hope (and pray) that it'll come back you still have some in. If it doesn't, then at least you cut your losses short...

The only thing to do...
