    I LOVE taxes!!!

In the end you gave me an answer. 3 pages to reach that objective, well that was quite long... For everyone, here is Hamlet's list of countries where US own interventionism has brought democracy to one or more countries : - Occidental european countries during WW2 - Some countries whose...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

Please requote your list of US self-interventionism that brought democracy, as out of 41300 members on ET, 41299 are unable to find it from your posts. Perhaps is there a huge bug that hides this list from other readers than just you... Or, and it could be simpler, just acknowledge that all...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

...and still waiting for your list... But I think my list is evocative enough. Let me repeat it : Panama ? Haiti ? Korea ? Kosovo ? Iraq ? Vietnam ? Chili ? Uruguay ? El Salvador ? Nicaragua ? Granada ? Guatemala ?

    I LOVE taxes!!!

Quote from Hamlet: You keep asking for a list of countries which have benefited from US intervention, and I keep giving you examples, but yet you continue to ask for a list. Could you please quote here your list, because I couldn't find it anywhere... So once again I ask you for this...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

You didn't give any list... you see... and haven't been able to understand that all these countries were already strong democracies and that the US haven't been the ONE to defeat nazis, but have been part of the countries who defeated them, most of the work having been made by the communists...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

Quote from Hamlet: I am not believing in anything that I hear at all. You keep saying that for some reason. Is your country so full of bias and naivety that as a result you believe the rest of the world is full of mindless lemmings who cannot think for themselves? The US population is split...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

If you prefer to see it this way, this is your problem. You will for sure live very happy with this kind of conviction. The joke is you are still believing in what you hear... that the US is the good and the others the evil. That is so funny to hear that it says it all. And please, do not...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

I almost totally agree with your statements. My two paragraphs were just a way to show how ridiculous the present US foreign politics discourse of 'we will bring democracy to the rest of the world' is a complete nonsense. If the US government has done what it has done, it is because it had...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

It says it all.... And you will come back once again that you are not influenced ? Is that a joke ? By the way, I'm still waiting for this list of countries...or should we officially recognize that US interventions haven't had any good effect throughout the years ? Perhaps getting rid...

    Big Move Up Imminent

Don't worry, if I'm long or short, it's rougly on a 1 hour scale.... :) Market microstructure and order placement seems to be something totally neglected nowadays but you can be sure some day in the future (10 years ?) people will understand better what I mean. However I'm sure that even now...

    The open source thread

Have you tried a profiling of your java program ? I used to find that some very little thing in your program can slow it up in a way you would not have suspected. However, it's quite true that java garbage collector and memory management is really slow and unpredictable.

    Big Move Up Imminent

Do you realize that volume is the number of shares/contracts BOUGHT & SOLD AT THE SAME TIME ? If you were doing a study on volume realized as market orders and as limit orders, I could understand there is some value behind your reasoning, but here, I'm not really convinced on such an argument.

    Log Returns

It is natural logarithm, i.e. in base 'e'. Usually mathematicians use 'ln', but people in finance prefer to use 'log'....don't ask me why...perhaps to many stupid people in this industry who couldn't adapt if the right mathematical terminology was used...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

I don't really think a president should be the one to work 24/7, except if it means 24h/week, 7 months/year ;-) I see a president as someone who should have a political vision for the future and who should spend his time thinking, and not running a country. Running a country is...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

What my country has done for the world ? Never heard of the Red Cross ? Never heard of all the meetings my country has welcomed between US and UdSSR and other countries at war as a neutral country ? Never heard of the Geneva Initiative for the Palestinian case ? and as an example, my country has...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

At least someone with an ounce of critical mind. It's amazing how black/white today's world can be. US govt propaganda is so strong that their opponents are running in Moore's arms. As you say, he is making tons of money on this. I'm still impressed how people who hate Bush strictly believe...

    I LOVE taxes!!!

Quote from Hamlet: Quote from science_trader: Quote from Hamlet: Name a country that the US brought democracy to? How about preserving it in most of Europe in WW2 for starters. You clearly forget those countries were ALREADY democracies before the war ! Other examples ? Common...
