Risk control in auto-trading and HFT?

Best risk control method would be to forget about this facade. Barring the cost of entry, which includes opportunity cost among other things, there is really no way to "simulate" these opportunities. There is still plenty of opportunity in larger timeframes throughout the marketplace to take...

    Excel question

Can you go into more detail about what you are trying to accomplish? Kind of hard to figure out. Sounds like you could do a simple = if ( ) or maybe = or ( if ( ) ) But I didn't fully grasp what you are trying to accomplish. It has been a while since I have programmed in excel , but...

    Nflx

It looks like it just broke out of its resistance. I have no opinion, could go higher, could go lower - don't care either way. But it is hard I am guessing to let go of something that is continuously making you cash. I am sure there will come a time where there will be much better...

Shooting star on the daily SPY

Doesn't this formation have to close lower? I am having a hard time seeing it on FinViz, but on stockcharts.com it looks like it closed right at the opening price. Nasdaq is not showing this btw. To me this looks like consolidation before another move higher. But I have been fooled before...

Maybe Velma Hart should not send both her kids to private school

I think you hit it right on the head. She took major risk in what she thought to be a riskless market (housing). I'm guessing she spends well over her means and she is finding out being a "CFO" doesn't mean shit. I am also guessing that since she is black that this in her head equates to...

Maybe Velma Hart should not send both her kids to private school

I was thinking the same thing. "Well, I have 2 kids in private schooling so..." I wish he would have said, "Sounds like you are doing quite well then already, why are you bitching"? Not that I support him or any party for that matter, but god you could tell she was a total bitch.

any idea what this would cost to get someone to program

It would take 5 minutes to program something like this, especially with some of the user friendly programs available to most retail traders. This is very simple, OP, take a few days to learn a new piece of software and do it yourself. You could do this with no programming knowledge with a...

Does anyone else think the market is set up for a big gain tomorrow?

Yeah, Nasdaq has been phenomenal lately. That thing can really run both ways when it wants to.

Does anyone else think the market is set up for a big gain tomorrow?

Yeah, I agree. I think it is going to be a volatile day though with the path of least resistance being up. Impossible to say for sure, but I think there is 1 or 2 big moves in store to the upside before some sort of retracement.

Does anyone else think the market is set up for a big gain tomorrow?

http://finviz.com/futures_charts.ashx?t=ES It just seems like it has been building to one huge move. The gains IMO could be pretty significant if it doesn't sell off in the late afternoon.

Recommend me a futures broker firm that will take in $3000 for intraday ES

Just a word of advice from someone that was in your position at one time. Start with more capital, have a good base under yourself first. I'm telling you brother, after you lose your first five or six trades you are going to start to "press". I don't expect you will take my advice, good...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

But when is eventually? If you take a look at the daily, weekly, monthly charts of Nasdaq, this looks pretty damn real to me personally. For all who are talking about volume etc. I think that is pretty overrated. If it is indeed retail volume that is lacking that just signals to me...

    es vs ym

The minimum tick fluctuation in the YM is 1, not .1 During regular trading hours it is unlikely that you will see a spread > than 1 tick. You will not have to worry about any of this though from your standpoint. You don't have enough money to influence the market if asking these questions.
