    Still puzzled about this trade

Hey Guys... I'm still really puzzled about this trade. I posted a few days ago about a trade that I put on in a paper account and the market has reacted the way I expected but the put spread hasn't and I really can't figure out why: Here's the trade I placed: Vertical Put Spread Date: Dec 3...

Buying a call and holding through to expiry? (Questrade)

No kidding... But, it's a great start. I realize there will be losing trades too, but if I can win more than lose, that's the key. Thanks for the info guys.

Buying a call and holding through to expiry? (Questrade)

Makes sense. Thanks! Amazing first trade! Yesterday I bought 2 contracts of SPY (strike 206) @ avg price of $2.86. Sold today both for $3.97. Made $222 on $572 in one day --- 38.8% in one day. Wow!

Buying a call and holding through to expiry? (Questrade)

Pefect, thank you. That is the approach that I have taken thus far, and really wasn't planning on doing any different. However, I'm curious as to the mechanic of how the exercise process works (specifically with Questrade). So, unless I absolutely have the money to hold the shares then...

Buying a call and holding through to expiry? (Questrade)

Why don't I just load everything up SPXL?

You are not taking into consideration that leverage works in both directions. With SPXL, you are assuming that it will only go UP. You also have SPXS which will give you the inverse return of 3%. So if the market goes up by 3% in one day, you would see +9% in the SPXL but if you had the SPXS...

Can someone please explain why this trade is going wrong?

I can't seem to figure out the Yahoo Options tracker at all. I can see how to add holdings to your portfolio but not how to add a call spread or put spread.

Can someone please explain why this trade is going wrong?

Thank you for the update. When I first started doing this I wasn't really paying too much attention to the bid/ask spreads. Then I noticed the closer spreads were better. But the TSX 60 still puzzled me because I thought that it would jump up when it got close, but I guess that's why you...

Can someone please explain why this trade is going wrong?

I've been studying options for the last couple of weeks. Last week I decided to open an excel spreadsheet to track trades that I was interested in and would have possibly made was I doing it live. I have done quite well in my trades, but the TSX 60 put spreads are puzzling me. The market is...
