    Bright Trade

Well personally I spent a couple of years learning on my own before I'd had it, realized I needed a mentor, and shelled-out $250/mo to join a pay chat room. In the 30-60 day timeframe I didn't need it anymore and the cost was exceedingly well worth it...in fact, if I'd gone that route early...

Do you fully appreciate the complexity of the markets?

...a big fan of your work for a long time, thanks for your contributions, they have been an inspiration. Keep it up! Brett...ditto, thanks!

I'm looking for a prop that offers...

The only server-side stops I know of are on Nexa Technology's FIX Gateway and that implementation is as an optional 'trailing-stop' delta, however I know of no front-end that has been developed for the server. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but wanted to try and bring the thread back on...

    News algorithms?

I have real-time news feeds (via direct API) from a majority of the news vendors including press wires, boutique daytrader sources, Dow Jones, etc. And I parse them on-the-fly for special keys and the like...but as said, that's mostly rigamarole for my purposes at least.

    News algorithms?

I'd skip all the parsing and AI rigamarole and simply jump straight to the equation; "setup part (news) + another trigger" = works better -jmho :) Rigamarole - a long and complicated and confusing procedure; "all that academic rigmarole was a waste of time" worldreference.com

Kinematics, Calculus, and other higher maths

Agree! But, this thread started out with potential and contained useful information until it degraded into the worshiping of market God's and novel pontification of the value PhD's add to the trading floor equation. Similarly interesting topic to me would be; "Instantaneous Time-Series Data...

I'm a victim of serious online fraud at brokerage

hmm...exit position or don't exit position, seems like 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other. My suspicion is if you gave the question to 12 different Lawyers, you might even get a 50-50 split on which one is the correct answer. -lol

    Another one hangs it up

Step back for a few...decide what makes you happy and what you're the most interested in doing and/or accomplishing....then head-out in that direction. At the same time always keep your options and mind open - look, listen, and learn - you'll do fine! All the Best, nbates

What will you do if you don't succeed in trading?

Interesting story, but some people are destined for success and others are not! It's more about desire than it is about brains and of course common sense is a bonus, definitely.

Kinematics, Calculus, and other higher maths

I've NEVER seen a trading day that didn't have plenty of instruments on some form of cyclic trend where profit could be made. Of course, knowing in hindsight what they were and that it happened doesn't get much.

Opportunities will always be there, the markets will change and people will adapt...they always do! paper & pencil -> calculator -> computer foot power -> horse power -> engine power cave -> tent -> condo It's not the end of the world, lol

    opteron vs xeon

Clarification on 4G memory with Windows XP Pro: Kernel will use 2G for itself, paging, etc Applications can use the other 2G (total among them) You can 'tweek' BOOT.INI with the /3GB switch, which will adjust the Kernel to 1G and Applications to 3G, but in my experience this degrades...

    opteron vs xeon

In most cases, excepting custom application development you have control over, single CPU systems out perform dual CPU systems in the real world because a DUAL system is bottlenecked by its interface chipsets and their need to synchronize and share the L2 cache and peripheral interface bus...
