So what now? The news is out--we opened at a spike and traded all day below the open. So if the market trades below 1150 in S&P, are they now going to stop trading and close the market like in Russia?
If it trades up to 1290's it sure looks like a sell there... of course they will come up...
Well, without shorts bidding to cover and support the market, it is more likely a small down move can snowball into an avalanche i.e., crash -- may be PPT has to be deployed more often. Still market will find its way to go where it belongs.
I sold a little ES 1234 to see it go thru to 1240...
It seems the guy's attitude is what bothered most posters here.
That said, I don't see a problem taking a punt with a small % of your acct given the probability of a takeover was rather high (at least it seemed to me as of Firday close) for at least 2-3 bucks on the low side -- so the...
So they killed the great er2 ,,,,,,,,, :(
seems the volume is crap on the RUT TFZ8
I had to trade some contracts to get out some hedged positions -- pathetic
Thank you.
btw, RUT (TFZ8) quotes just disappeared from my screen about a 2 minutes ago -- haven't returned. glad I am staying away from ICE for RUT now
Can someone post the "ticker" and "exchange" which works for Excel DDE quotes for the December RUT mini contract on ICE?
I've tried w/o success:
RUT & NYBOT
RUT & ICE
How about a PC w/ Intel Zeon 3.6GHz CPU... I remember seeing one listed on ebay seemed to be a decent price...
(it says optimized for servers... I don't know what that really means...)
EDIT: ebay listing for this one says: "Remanufactured" and comes w/ IBM 4-yr warranty
So does that mean the OEM OS licence dies w/ the motherboard? What if the mobo needs replacing? How does Microsoft validation work? anyone know what it is checking on my computer?
Thanks for all the contributors here. This is turning out to be an informative thread.
Good luck on your project. It should be fun to build your own pc! Please keep us updated...
I was also thinking of building my own pc (with either intel 4300 or 6600 cpu). It seems a fun project to build your own but I just did a quick calculation and realized I won't be saving any money...
What a waste of my time reading "Trend Following" by Michael Covel -- I am amazed at and congraulate the guy for writing a 400+ page book and deliver next to nothing. For me, only the appendix with perfromance stats of various funds is of any use as a reference.
Not that I don't believe in...
yes I agree, but it seems extra choppy today somehow.
I had a nice catch in the last up move from 697.80 to 706.9 may be I will just be on the sidelines for now..I thought rally would sustain but it can't seem to hold it..
I still think this could rally big.
I had the acct all set up to buy all 5K shares but decided against participating given the general mkt conditions -- boy am I glad...
Hope you guys who bought in do better over time...good luck.
If the market keeps sliding today, it might set up for a mid-day reversal for a huge 1 to 2 day rally...
Even though I am overall bearish, it seems a screaming rally is in the making..fwiw
I still can't see what has caused the drawdowns of those big trend following funds mentioned in this thread...metals, oil, and most commodities have rallied for 5 or so years...equities also has rallied w/o much of a correction...
As I understand, these funds are in for the longer-term trends...
