Reuters: Situation in Europe is serious

Yes, essentially. Governments are ignoring the will of their people because they believe (rightfully so, perhaps) that a collapse will occur if they do not, and a collapse will mean they will get blamed for it. Essentially what we have is that government created the mess, and continues to...

    Hi-ho SILVER...Away!!!!!

Semantics. Excellent way to make an argument. I think you'd find there's a GREAT DEAL of difference between a trade that lasts 10 seconds and one that lasts 10 years.

Unpresidented VIX Spike Suggests A Positive Week Ahead

Probably one of the banks that had a perfect trading quarter. Oh wait, they all did. In other news, we're already green.

Unpresidented VIX Spike Suggests A Positive Week Ahead

If you didn't buy this morning's dip, you should have. In all likelihood, the algos will kick in shortly when volume drops off a cliff and we'll churn higher and close green like we do more than eighty percent of the time. Hope you're in it.

Reuters: Situation in Europe is serious

Countries can, and frequently do, go bankrupt. But I agree with you, throwing good money after bad money (which is essentially what the Bailout does) is a level of stupid that only politicians can succumb to.

    Uh, no. It's not.

The jerk that is negging ALL my threads

If it's just one jerk doing it, then it shouldn't be a big deal. One vote is nothing if others are voting positively.

US Treasury accused of manipulating markets - again?

After she shaved her head, she certainly looked like an alien. You can argue that the Fed manipulates markets by keeping rates where they are. Free money to the banks, who do not lend with it, but put it into asset classes.

    The Dividend Tax Bill Arrives

I could care less about your arguments or policy. They may be good, bad or otherwise indifferent. The only policy that matters to me is the one about no self-advertising. Warning stands. Ignore it at your own peril.

Extremely Intresting Market Still Ahead: We Are At A Crossroad

You're probably right. In fact, of all the posters on this site, you're one I would listen to over anyone. But there's no harm in buying small positions, and letting them run while the stupidity is in season.

Beware - Fringe media rumor - Germany to leave Euro?

Most likely. We'll see what comes out of the announcement this Friday.

Beware - Fringe media rumor - Germany to leave Euro?

You've been warned. There could be no substance whatsoever to this "news", but it's interesting to read nonetheless. Also quotes one of my all-time despised websites (Kitco) so even more potentially worthless...

    The Dividend Tax Bill Arrives

Pete, Stop with the posting of your site. Elitetrader does not allow personal site "pimping", which is essentially what you're doing. I removed all the links. If you persist, I'll have to treat you like a spammer.

    Hi-ho SILVER...Away!!!!!

Tell that to all the people who were levered up to their ass in gold ETFs and spot. Are their better investments out there? No. But this is a Trading site and as Traders we look to get the best possible price on an instrument and get out at the best possible price, right? If you want to...

Unpresidented VIX Spike Suggests A Positive Week Ahead

The really interesting thing about today's move is that it's not being echoed anywhere else. Currency markets are showing extreme caution (no risk-on behavior at all) and fixed income is rather adverse as well. The Vix is down, but you're not seeing it anywhere but in stocks. Something...
