firefox is "hogging" a set percentage of your memory for fast page/switching.
i usually turn that feature off... because i rarely uses foreward/backward buttons. and that significantly reduces the memory usage by firefox... there are plenty of postings online regarding that topic...
i got my dell battery replaced... took about 3-4 weeks...
my 2 yr old laptop got a new boost w/the new battery...
get a macbook or a macbook pro... they're great for everyday use, but not for trading.
i dont know any trading program that works with a mac
maybe the amount of memory you see in your system is limited by the amount of virtual memory page file the system has... which is around 2gb
are you using windows xp (original) not SP1 & SP2?

your video card manual will say it will share system memory. otherwise, there's something else going on.

2x24's are kind of expensive (dell). i'm currently looking at 4x20's as a replacement
samsung 204b seems like the best one so far in the market. dell's unwillingness to drop their 20 inch prices make me think 204b is the better deal/hardware...
