2560x1600 pixels has to pass QA, the yield on larger LCD's are substantially lower than smaller LCD. A few bad pixels will ruin a otherwise perfectly fine LCD.

please point out a video card that supports 2000x1200 the geforce 7 series will do 2560x1600, using the dual link dvi

i dont think it can run at that screen resolution. its not even one of the standard resolutions winxp would support

having a dell 30 is nice... it's very big screen, you will need to turn your head to see everything on the screen. whereas a 24 fits nicely within normal viewing angle. you won't have to roll your eyes and/or turn your head to see everything, compare to the 30. having 2 30's is a little...

ruby on rails will save you tons of time in infrastructure work compare to java. especially if you're tracking data with some type of SQL database its definitely slower than java, but its your time versus buying another machine or two
